We took the first gondola up at 9:15. It was free with our visitor summer card. I think it would have been 20Euros each return.
We hiked for 2 hours at the top on a lovely sunny day so the views were great. The sculptures added interest and there were great play areas for kids. The path to the top was challenging at times but gave great views of the valley below and the mountains all around. We took the gondola back down at 12, so only needed a half day for this activity. It is a good spot to watch people hang and paraglide but the wind wasn't right when we were there.

The gondola ride up the mountain was quick and spectacular. The 360 degree view from the top is indescribably breathtaking. This is worth making Ruhpolding a destination or at least a nice stop- off for a visit to the town and this incredible mountain.

As we took a road further on our moto-trip, we stopped at the Rauschbergbahn. It is a lift that takes you to Rauschberg mountain. We waited a loooong looooong time to get in. Maybe too long for my taste, but once we got up (after an hour waiting in line) it was great experience. I have fear of hights, so the lift that took us 1000 meter higher was a stressful experience for me. But I managed it and loved the views from the mountain. We searched for edelweiss, but sadly found nothing. As a attraction I would definitely recommend it to everyone. If I remember correctly the price was some 19 EUR per Person.

Going up in the morning meant that there were a large crowd in the cable car which could be quite claustrophobic but we had a smooth an quick run up to the top. There were some lovely walks and the views were fantastic

On the top its a great view of the alps. The restaurant was great!!! They have small playground for kids indoor and outdoor but quite small.
You also find some art works like the hand of adam...

But sadly we can't stay long because the weather is getting bad..

Overall it's worth a visit...
