Stayed here for 5 nights on a Shearings coach holiday - did not expect much for the price we paid but it was far worse than expected.
The rooms were clean, bathroom adequate, and no lack of hot water but the balcony was a disgrace - cracked concrete, covered in green mould and "furnished" with one slatted wooden chair - not somewhere to linger with a glass of wine!
In the dining room guests on coach tours were allocated to specific areas, 8 to a table - don't know why as the food was the same for everybody - I can only presume it was because we were "all-inclusive" - which was a joke as the beer ran out one night!
Breakfast was O.K - the usual cold meat selection, choice of rolls and croissants and hard-boiled eggs or scrambled eggs and bacon. We were supposed to have packed lunches and were surprised to hear that we had to pack them ourselves!! But actually this was an advantage as you then had your own choice of roll and filling - but no biscuits or buns provided, and no choice of drink - just whatever was out on reception that day.
However, the evening meal was abysmal - a very boring salad selection or one soup, followed by various trays of unidentifiable objects in sauce. There were ever only 2 choices of desert - cold rice or a blancmange/mousse.
The location of the hotel is not good either - way above the village (and public transport) and not a bar or restaurant within easy walking distance. Luckily we had a trip out most days, otherwise, without a car it would have been a nightmare.
In conclusion, I can only say avoid this hotel if you can!

On arrival at the hotel it appeared shabby and in need of some tlc. Rooms were adequate but the carpets needed cleaning as the were marked and they do allow dogs in the rooms. service was poor as there was none. Food was bad and all inclusive bar was self service with poor choice and no bar to purchase anything different until after 8.30 pm. every seating area had a tv on all the time so no quiet lounge of seating. Hotel not used to having 45 English tourist for a holiday. Would not recommend this hotel at all.

We were told by the travel agent that it is a 4 star hotel, but this is not correct. Bad food, bad service, no wifi at all, shabby sheets with punctures, cigarette stubs all over the outside area, many dogs at the hotel ?!? Depressing surroundings..We will never visit that place again.

Arrived here on a Shearings coach holiday, not easy for the driver to find as insufficient signs! Very old and need of paint outside but inside better. Facilities adequate e.g. basic rooms, daily making of bed and change of towels. Don't expect 5 star treatment because basic standard hotel for it seems group bookings. Sauna, table tennis and all inclusive people have an open bar up to 8:30p.m. Food same in everything in sauces, salads and standard breakfasts, added bonus tea time cakes for all inclusives! Minus very isolated location have to walk to local Hahnenklee town centre. Then, most shops closed in late September as mainly a skiing resort. Best to go on coach trips if you want to sight see. Would not stay at this hotel again for this reason.

Room Tip: Front of hotel O.K but not much of view except coaches!

Senic location in Hahnenklee just 18 km out of Goslar.
Look for special deals through agency including breakfast and dinner buffets.

During the first 2 days of our stay the buffet was insufficiently monitored by the head waiter and chef, leaving guest waiting for fresh refills. Staff only reluctantly cooked smaller portions to accomodate wishes.
Last 2 days, stations were well manned, buffet was kept updated.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a room where WiFi has coverage. In remote rooms WiFi is inaccesible.
