The bridge has been built for a long years. I had been traveling through this bridge since my childhood. The bridge is almost busy during morning and evenings. Nothing much to see or explore here. Aluva palace is an other attraction.

A great bridge on the NH highway between Ernakulam and Angamali. I have been driving through this bridge almost regularly in the 70s and 80s and later as and when coming to Ernakulam. Of late, having shifted to Ernakulam, keep crossing this bridge occasionally and it gives great memories. The Shiva temple on the banks of Periyar river is visible from the bridge at a distance.

Nothing special about the bridge , if you stop here for a minute you can see the periyar river flowing in its majesty and get a glimpse of the famous aluva shivarathri manappuram..

It is situated on the busy national highway connection Kerala and neighboring Tamil Nadu across rive Periyar. You will find the arch type construction of the side walls typical to many other bridges across rives in Kerala.

You can catch glimpse of the sandbanks where Sivarathri is celebrated, Siva temple and the newly constructed footbridge to the temple from the top of Marthanda Varma Bridge.

There's nothing about this bridge for tourists. That's just an old bridge on Periyar river which you cross on road.
