Place is near to Hemkunt Sahib, Valley of Flowers, Auli. It connects to Badrinath & has its own significance.

Chamoli district is the northern most mid district of Uttarkhand state and Joshimath -Jyotirmutth is its center town.Adventure and spiritualism and eco tourism are endowed in full here for those who can stay here more. The First torch bearer center of learning and unlearning too-established by Shankaracharya ji for Hindu Thought in 2500 BC and again in 682 AD by new Shankara from kerala. Now there are three for the throne.See the Mutth, narsimha temple and iots neglect by all of us as you decide to take a rope way up the hill to AULI and then walk up to Gorson meadows so easily accessible..badrinath mana,Valley of flowers Hemkund sahib, laxaman kund same place and all the peaks here have a name and legend to them.Even the black healthy crows here have Golden beaks.-kak bhushandi and garuda dialogue is alive here in all ways, with even peaks named after these wise men of the past named so.

Auli is a littele gem in Gahrwal. Its 16km from Joshimath. I visited Auli during march 2013. The moment you will enter the compund of GMVN Auli resort its a different world altogether. I haven't seen the himalayan peaks so close before. The trishul, the Nandadevis were tantalizingly close.
Since its almost 10K feet abve sea level, one day should be kept to get used to the thin air at high altitude.
On the second day we went for a trek till Garson bugyal. The trek was amazing. As we climbed up the snow increased, and the view got better. We almost trekked for 4 hours.

There is also a chair lift service from GMVN till the cliff top resort Auli. It costs 300 rupees per person both ways, but its not worth. Its better to trek and enjoy the views

Joshimath named after the math established by Shankracharya's Jyothirmath is the last big town before starting for badrinath. Cities main attranction includes narsingh temple, jyothirmath and the last but not the least Auli. Most of the facilities you would get here including lodging and recharging yourself up.
