“Small & welcoming with beautiful food”
Reviewed 26 April 2012

Visited for lunch based on recommendations and we were not disappointed. Beautifully prepared and presented local food. The set lunch (£21 for 3 courses) gave enough choice for all of us yet was small enough to know it would be cooked to perfection. Sorely tempted to return for dinner-the cheese board looked awesome!

“Best restaurant around”
Reviewed 16 April 2012 via mobile

We have visited Kathton House several times now and it is definitely our favourite restaurant. Last week we took a friend along and it was as good as ever. The fixed price includes Chef's appetiser and sorbet between first course and main. The food is always high quality and beautifully cooked. Service is excellent and we are always made to feel very welcome. Kathton House is simply one of the best restaurants we have ever eaten in and certainly the best in this part of Kent. The wine is superb and good value. Because there are no "hidden extras" in the prices the overall cost is very fair and represents good value for money, unlike some restaurants that charge extra for every portion of vegetables. We hope to be back soon and recommend it to anyone who appreciates fine dining and good wine.

“My first visit but other 3 had all eaten here before”
Reviewed 15 April 2012

I have known about this restaurant since it opened but had not eaten there until last night.

Every thing about the place is good the staff smile and are very busy looking after all the customers. Every table full.

Very nice wine list with good selection of wines, The wines are slightly expensive.

The choices of food is excellent, There is something for everyone, well cooked and thoughtfully presented. The sorbet was a nice touch.

All in all a very enjoyable evening.

“Excellent warm but unfussy service”
Reviewed 14 April 2012

Was busy with at least 3 parties going on at lunch time, but still gave us lots of attention, water and fresh bread brought automatically.

Light goat cheese tart perfectly cooked veg and lovely textures in the chocolate caramel torte. This and then Deesons were my 2 favourite meals during a week's stay in Canterbury.
