We have travelled around the world for about 30 years now. Several times a year we choose a place to explore or relax. There is only one hotel where we return to over and over again (ten times already!) and that's Auberge des Balastres in Fontvieille. For the given price one always gets a better quality than elsewhere: very tidy rooms, an excellent kitchen with sufficient choice on the wine card (even a delicious biodynamic wine of the Demeter label) and a very friendly and hard working staff. The warm reception of the owners is unique and there is always a lot of understanding for our personal needs. We highly recommend this place for a relaxing holiday!

We would highly recommend the half board as the dinner really made the Provence experience all the more incredible. The service was fantastic and the hosts were very welcoming. English was spoken freely and menus were explained to us. The food was incredible and we would definitely recommend.

Stayed here as recommended by a good friend whilst visiting this area.

Good clean accomodation, family run, all staff friendly and helpful.
(we often snuck out before breakfast to visit local sites)

Food was awesome, with many local dishes and twists on regional favourites, the half board being very good value, and flexible if you wanted to splurge out of an evening.

Excellent location for visiting Les Alpilles, le Crau (including Peu de Mau, one of the best dragonfly sites in Europe) and, of course, the Camargue.

We will go back again.

Auberge des Balastres is a great little inn located in the heart of Provence. A short drive from St. Remy & Arles with all the comforts of home. Large bathrooms, comfortable beds, an immaculate pool make for a perfect French vacation. The owners are very accomodating, helping make your vacation memorable. I look forward to returning.
