I have stayed here for work on five ocassions. It is clean, staff are polite, the rooms are quaint, the bathrooms functional. Yes, there is the odd smell of cigarettes. The owner smokes and lives in part of the building but no room i have stayed in smells of tobacco. The breakfast is not lavish, but it is perfectly adequate and you are paying € 7 for it, so it won't be the same as The Ritz. Bottom line- for the money, this is a very nice place to stay. 3 of us come from work to Amiens, all of us chose to stay here all of the time.

Me and my mate arrived by bike for our stay.
The manager greeted us and allowed us to park the bikes in his private garage.
The hotel room was well piced and very comfortable.
The town, resturants and night life excellent as well.
Would highly reccommend a stay.

Sid

Clean, affordable hotel very close to the city center. The rooms we stayed in was a decent size, for two people, but a little on the cold side in terms of temperature. There are no hairdryers, bring your own if need be. The staff were excellent to communicate with via e-mail prior to our stay (reservations, directions, etc.). I would absolutely go back to this hotel if I am ever in the area again.

We stayed at the Victor Hugo (two rooms - one for two older adults, and one for myself, my husband, and our 4.5 year old), as by the time I was booking our accommodation for Anzac Day, there were limited options available. The Victor Hugo was basic, clean, and met our needs for our two night stay. It was a great, central location in Amiens - quick walk to the cathedral area, downtown, and the restaurants by the canal. The gentleman who looked after us spoke English, was very accommodating, and was accustomed to Australian travellers being in the area, and getting up very early for the dawn service at Villers Bretonneux.
Driving to the hotel can be a challenge, even with GPS, due to all the one-way streets in the area. Metered parking on the street outside, but as we were there over Easter, it was free.

Room Tip: The room on the ground floor can be very noisy

We stayed here for three nights in April 2011. We found the hotel to be great value, in a fantastic location and the staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was small but adequate and the bathroom was fine. We certainly would stay there again.
