“Excellent gite for battlefield visitors”
Reviewed 17 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

I have been visiting the battlefields of the Great War for nearly 30 years, always staying in rural gites. This town gite was a change for us and turned out to be the best I have ever stayed in. It is scrupulously clean, well equipped and in a convenient location for Somme and Arras exploration.
The gite has three bedrooms - two small doubles and a twin room with bunkbeds. One double (upstairs) has an ensuite. Downstairs has a separate shower room and loo.
The house has recently been refurbished to a standard I do not normally encounter on my trips. It has modern and very effective insulation so it is cosy even in cold weather. The kitchen has smart, high quality fittings and appliances. The fridge is an adequate size but I would have liked a separate freezer. The open plan living area has contemporary and traditional furniture. Patio doors lead to a small, enclosed and very attractive courtyard. Everything has been chosen with care. It is obvious that the owner takes pride in the gite.
Arras town centre is about 10 mins. walk away yet the area round the gite is quiet. The only difficulty we experienced with parking outside the gite was on weekday afternoons between 3.30 and 5pm when parents parked to pick up small children from the primary school opposite. We drove round the block a couple of times some days before we could get a space. By 5.30 the road was empty again.
After a day hiking round the Somme it was very pleasant to return to a hot shower and a cold beer. We enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable billet and intend to return.

The Gite Mosaique had everything you could ask for. The unit was very well appointed with everything you could require to prepare all your meals.

Good location secure parking very clean. Ideal location for eating out within walking distance of the main square with a good choice of restaurants. Suggest you book on a Friday as it can be difficult to get a .Table at the better restaurants.

“Nice self catering apartment in Arras”

This aparment is clean and spacious with everything you need for a self-catered stay. It has two reasonably-sized double rooms plus a third room with two bunk beds.

One thing to be aware of before booking, the stairs are quite steep and the steps not very big so not suitable for the infirm. Although, having one double bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor means this needn't be a problem.

One nice thing for me is that the apartment had WiFi included for free.

It's a short 5 minute walk into the centre of town but none of us considered this too far. We managed to park the car immediately outside the front door.

“Great City Gite”
Reviewed 13 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We stayed at Gite Mosaique for a week in June 2013 while exploring Arras and the surrounding WW1 sites and memorials. From the start of booking until checking out everything could not have gone more smoothly.A warm welcome, plenty of information and a really stylish and spacious home away from home. The house was spotlessly clean with every amenity.Wifi and broadband access are there for your convenience.Parking was easy just outside the front door and yet so close to the the centre. The patio is great and had the sun in the mornings until about 1ish.The park just along the street is well kept and ideal for a stroll and picnic . Arras centre is just a few minutes walk so restaurants and shops/supermarkets are really handy.
We couldn't fault the rental at all.The owner has really excelled in supplying just about all you would want for a holiday rental and more.A delight to stay in such a lovely house.
