“This place has upped its game with the new clubhouse”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2012

My family & I have owned a caravan on site for 3 years and we liked it even before the clubhouse was rebuilt. Now we have the Country Club, we love it.

It's still being finished with landscaping needed, the kids' payground being commissioned, etc. but the bar, gamesroom, pool and gym are all open and are pretty impressive.

We have had a drink at the bar (a few times!) and find it reasonably priced and very welcoming with lovely mannered and friendly staff. They are still finding their feet (both the staff and the place itself) but 10 out of 10 for effort and engagement with their clientelle.

Today we ate at Guy's for the first time - just breakfast (late, it was about 11am). The serivce was at the table and again, friendly. It look a while for the food to come and when it did, they forgot the toast but it was worth waiting for. Beautiful cooked breakfasts that kept us all quiet for 20mins (even the kids) while we ate. Quality produce and well cooked. Bravo Patrington Haven! Good value too. Table service, 3 large cooked breakfasts, 1 small one and 5 drinks was £22.

I know a number of my fellow 'owners' were a bit sceptical about the club opening but they have all been won over; I saw one of them tucking in to a Sunday Lunch today and he seemed more than happy!!

If you get the chance, go. Stay. Eat. It's a whole new way of life!!

We visited the site for a Bank Holiday break and found the Complex, which had been closed for 3 years, to have opened just 3 days before. We had a bad first impression has the external work on the building ie Childrens play areas, Landscaping and the Car Park were unfinished. They were all fenced off with Health and Safety signs all over, though through the fence you saw that the Childrens play area was actually built!. We entered the building thru a Fire Escape door at the side, this was the only way in and out of the building?

When we entered the building we found an amazing state of the art gymnasium, a Oak, i think, bar area which wouldnt look out of place in any Luxury hotel and a large TV lounge, Snooker/Pool room and relaxation areas.

Just a few minor problems, no this way to signs ie toilets, no safety signs in ths swimming pool area, Swimming pool too cold really, Jacuzzi shared the water with the pool so wasnt warm, just bubbly, Untrained Bar staff left to fend for themselves at times when Bar Manager, Sier, missing, sorry Sier, he is an amazing host.

Good points, Sier the Mad Dutchman, Guy, could not do enough to make you feel welcome, The staff in the Bar, though new, were brilliant. The Complex is amazing and can only get better.

Last point, a larger Menu is needed, and Continental breakfast? Were are the Full English?

Nothing to do here. they are in the process of building a clubhouse, pool etc but at the moment it is the most boring place you could have the misfortune to visit.
To make matters worse the owner of the park also has an interest in pigeons...evident by the massive coops on the park. the feeding belt in the coop starts first thing in the morning loud enough to wake you and there is a massive amount of flies around all the time, you could not leave your caravan door open in the summer otherwise you are infested with flies. DISGUSTING!
There is not even a shop nearby to buy a morning paper..it is a car ride away or about a 25/30 minute walk.
I am sure the owners will say how wonderful this place will be when everything that they are working on is in place but at present there is NOTHING there and that is all I can comment on. There seems to be a huge amount of empty caravan plots... this is a park where most of the caravans are owned privately so it would seem that a lot of the owners have upped sticks.....looks quite unsightly, all those empty plots and doesn't inspire you with confidence to rent or even look at buying a property on this park
One last thing the pub on the outside of the park The Burns head...I would advise not to eat there, all deep fried rubbish, not tasty at all and the beer is quite expensive for the kind of pub it is

We stayed for the weekend to get away from it all. Huge mistake as we spent the weekend listening to 90,s rave music being blasted out loudly from a house on the council estate that this place backs onto.
Less than 100 yards away from us so we were unfortunate enough to be able to to hear the families shouting and swearing at their children. The kind of people you find on Jeremy Kyle.
Never ever again.

really well looked after park, not much entertainment wise (as new club house being built) nice swimming pool with a good range of opening times. Village has a good range of shops and 2 pubs, its only a 20-30 min walk from the park. Nice break and will be even better next year with the addition of a club house.
