The Room:
The rooms are small and basically furnished but reasonably modern with laminate floors and tiled bathrooms. Beds are not too hard, but not soft like found luxury hotels and laden with enough pillows for a king. Each room appeared to have a openable window out to the street that allowed for a nice breeze and either a fan or portable A/C. We were informed by another guest that to save power the rooms built in A/C is disabled, however it can be turned on at the request of the staff. The hotel does not offer refrigerators in the rooms. The rooms are very clean and well maintained.

The Bathroom:
Spacious and modern but as with most of Italian hotels, small showers and basic amenities. Very well maintained with no signs of wear or aging.

The Area:
The hotel is located on the corner of a street and a alleyway just down from the center of desenzano and the river front. across the street is a local deli offering fresh meats and cheeses, while next door is a small restaurant. In the lobby of the hotel is a modern decorated café, popular with locals, offering small bread rolls with various meats and cheeses, various breakfast pastries with various fillings, liquors, beers and coffees. Wi-Fi in the area is unfortunately slow depending on how many guests are staying, however local phone coverage was excellent for data.

The Service:
One of the reception staff is fluent in English, however most of the other staff only know a few words, that said, they are very patient, polite and will do their best to help and translate to the best of their abilities.
During our 2nd (and planned final) night in Desenzano my wife came down quite ill and required an ambulance transport to the local hospital. Due to our situation we required a last minute booking for an extra night. Upon returning the staff seemed concerned for the health of my wife and were asking how she was. When discussing rooms they informed us our room had been booked for someone else however at no extra charge they offered to upgrade us to larger room for the night.
On the day of our check out the hotel gladly held our bags in a locked area while we further explored the town. After returning we requested the receptionist to call us a taxi for pickup, after a few moments he informed us no taxis were available in the town at the time however without hesitation grabbed his jacket and asked if we would like him to drive us up to the train station for our departure and upon dropping us he even refused a any sort of tip for the drive.

We've spent a night here on our way to Christo's Floating Piers, the hotel is located in the very center of beautiful Desenzano, the staff is incredibly nice and friendly, they have been extremely helpful and caring.
Rooms are basically furnished but clean and quite spacious, the breakfast is served in the bar on the ground floor, don't expect to find a continental breakfast (we italians normally have cakes and capuccino) but the staff will surely try their best to please every host request.

After a long day of travelling from the Bergamo airport (the trains had delay due to the bad weather), we arrived in Albergo Moniga. Upon arrival, we immediately felt welcome. When first entering the room, we were surprised. The room was spacious for a 2 person room, as was the bathroom. There was airco, which came in handy on hot days, and free wifi.

The breakfast was a typical Italian one; brioches, paninis and cake at will with all kinds of coffee (or orange juice). The staff of the hotel, a family, was really pleasant to talk to. Although Lorenzo and the two women didn't speak English very well, his daughter served as a translator. The lady did speak French though.
They helped us with all of our questions and even recommended a waterpark which we could get to and visit for free. When asked for directions, there were always maps laying on the desk to explain or draw where we had to go. Lorenzo even drove us to the railway station on the day of our departure, because of terrible weather!

The beds were comfortable and always made up after leaving. The room was rather clean and we got new towels everyday.

The location of Albergo Moniga is also decent. It's located near the city centre, but also next to the duomo. The duomo is a church, so it was chiming pretty early in the morning, which woke us up several times.
Desenzano itself is a beautiful, vibrant city and located near Sirmione and Venice, which we both visited.

We had a great stay here! Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

Small hotel, rooms were basic, not very modern, but very clean, and had everything you needed, the air con was not great, and wifi did not have a strong connection, staff were lovely but didn't speak much English, hotel was in a great location easy to find and get to, and close to everything

I had a good stay in this hotel. It was clean and relatively cheap. The staff - which is a family business - was friendly. The only major issue was that the owner first told us 60€ per room, and later said that she made a mistake and it's actually 70€ per person.. She seemed to have done this quite a few times. Apart from that, all good.
