“great location”
Reviewed 16 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Great location in Viareggio, quiet st but close to restaurants. Beautiful house with marble staircase, room had private balcony looking out into the yard. Room was very clean and well decorated, plenty of storage for clothes. Viareggio has mossies but theres a net over the bed if required. We needed to do laundry when we arrived and this was taken from us and returned line-dried and ironed- wonderful. There's a small choice for breakfast- pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, fresh juice, coffee but theres plenty to eat and we didn't go hungry- similar amounts to what we eat at home- so a nice change from huge breakfasts. Its a 5 min walk to the promenade but this strip in Viareggio is a strip of beach clubs with usually a 20-30 euro fee for the day- with chair/sunlounger/ combinations. Some places have pools as well, some do half day fees- so your 5 minute walk may turn into max of 30 depending on where you choose. Theres a small strip of sand that you can use for freeal on the waters edge. We drove to our club as we'd hired a car for the week - you can buy weekly parking permits for different zones in the city, it saves doing the parking meter thing and gives you a lot more parking options as the place gets really busy and we could usually get a park outside our house!!! Laura and Paolo were full of helpful tips and thankyou to Paolos mum who provided us with extra drinks and snacks when we had a couple of hours at home during the day- wonderful hospitality.

On the downside, no aircon- just a good sized fan but it was a bit hot and humid when we where there.
