We had a wonderful time and were welcomed by Pasquale and also by Marilyn, a Canadian lady staying there also who goes every year. The Palace is in need of renovation, but the studio that we rented was fine. The only thing that I would mention is that the bathroom is downstairs and the sleeping arrangements are above. We slept well as Tropea streets are narrow and quiet at night. The restaurants in Tropea are all excellent
We (2 adults & 3yr old) stayed here for nine nights at the end of September. The apartment is a studio consisting of a small downstairs room & bathroom and a mezzanine sleeping area. It is a ten minute walk to the beach and less than five minutes from the town centre. There are at least half a dozen restaurants in the streets immediately surrounding the apartment.
The apartment was clean and compact and the kitchen area was sufficient for us to cook a light meal each day. There is very little noise from either the other apartments or the street. The owner, Pasquale, was very helpful and even brought us a plate of local cheese & chutney on Sunday morning! He also organised taxis to and from Lamezia airport that were 10% cheaper than those provided by firms in the town.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Palazzo 1721 and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a couple or small family as a functional, compact apartment in the heart of Tropea.
