With its black sand beach, beautiful white houses and active volcano Stromboli has such an amazing atmosphere you can hardly find. Volcano has eruptions almost every 20 minutes and you can watch them from both the boat or from the mountain if you go on hiking tour. It was really worth seeing.

A must-do excursion to the Osservatorio - don’t go before 8:00 - you need it to get nice and dark in order to see Stromboli explode molten lava!

Walked up from the Observatory restaurant to watch the sun set and view the explosions. Great fun...

We visited for one night only and walked up to the viewpoint. Takes like one and half to two hours, but its really worth it. Make sure you have good shoes and a torch or fully charged phone at least. No light on the way back is really a NO-NO. The great thing was that there were actually only two people on the viewpoint besides us. We enjoyed the sunset and the then the show afterdark. It's really a spectacle. We walked down to Observatorio and took a pizza there with more great views on the eruptions. Absolutely loved it and the food was good also. As we were leaving the volcano gave us another quite big blast of lava on the way and the sky countered with a meteorite just over the lava. We left with smiles on our faces and would return again any time.
