Le Logge di Silvignano Tower is, indeed, a tower in the small village of Silvignano. The village is very picturesque, affording great views of the valley below.
The interior of the tower is very attractive and is divided into four levels. The one at the bottom is a double bedroom with a dressing room next to it. The next level up contains a large bathroom, and a combination kitchen-dining-living room. The third level also contains contains a large bathroom, and a combination kitchen-dining-living room. However, it also has a deck with a canopy over it. The deck looks out over the valley and is a wonderful place to eat meals. The top level is a double bedroom in a loft that overlooks the upper combination kitchen-dining-living room.
My wife and I shared the tower with my sister and brother-in-law. We took the upper bedroom. It has a skylight, which can be opened in good weather. However, if it is closed, the upper bedroom is a little dark. Also, the loft is close enough to the sloping roof that it is easy to hit one's head on the roof beams, if one is not careful.
The tower could be rented as two separate apartments, but the deck makes the upper more desirable than the lower. However, the tower is ideal for two couples who want to share the deck.
The owners, Alberto and Diana, were wonderful hosts. Diana is charming and vivacious. She spent half an hour with us telling us all about the local attractions, wineries, towns to visit, etc.; and she gave us a bag full of brochures for them.
In addition, when we arrived, the apartment was already supplied with orange juice, fresh fruit, coffee, milk, jam, butter, and a cake that Diana had baked for us. We felt very welcome.
The tower does not have access to wi-fi. The walls are probably 18" thick; so it is not surprising that the signal from the router in the Logge's office does not reach into the tower. However, Diana was very gracious and let us sit in her office, where the router, is located when we needed to send and receive email.
One improvement that we suggested to Diana is to supply wi-fi access to the tower. The other improvement would be to put a roll-up shade on the skylight in the loft, in place on the black panel that currently keeps out all light if the skylight is closed. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to keep guests who stay in the loft from hitting their heads, except to tell them to be very careful.
Apart from these three reservations, my wife, sister, brother-in-law loved and I loved our stay in the tower; and we would recommend it highly to anyone.
