I visited the Hotel Aaritz at Val Gardena with my wife and 6 year old son as part of a Ski package. Form the time we checked into the hotel till the last minute (which was early in the morning at 3am), the service was impeccable. Suzy (the owner) makes you feel as if you are a guest at her house rather than someone staying at the hotel. Each person working in this hotel is friendly, smiling and offers the best of service. That includes Mr.Angelo in reception, Sergio in the restaurant and all the other employees in the hotel. It was a memorable experience - the food was delicious (and being vegetarian, we were specially enquired everyday by Sergio and provided with vegetarian options), the wine selection was extensive, the service was great, the rooms were nice and spacious......well, what could I fault? If I have to be very pedantic, I could say that we found the rooms slightly hot but that's a more personal preference than a general fault with the hotel.
Overall, a fantastic hotel with an absolutely brilliant service and facilities. Highly recommend it

Aaritz is a great hotel in Selva, the location is the best, just 2 min from the slopes. The food is excellent and so is the service. The Spa is wonderful. The only thing that could be better are the rooms, they are small, with small bathrooms.

Let me get this out of the way before I get to the good stuff... this hotel is way too hot, I mean uncomfortable. You just melt sitting at dinner and in the lounge/bar area. We did mention it, as did other guests but they just kept putting more logs on the fire.

Now the good stuff - ALL the staff at this hotel are OUTSTANDING, the best service we've had at any hotel, ever. They really know what service is.

The food choice is excellent and there are lots of courses that you can mix n match. The food tastes great and is well presented but not overdone. Bar prices are acceptable and they can knock you up any drink you like, and really well.

The room was really comfortable and clean - from a personal point of view I would have liked a dressing table with a mirror and a hair dryer that wasn't attached to the bathroom wall!

The hotel has lots of sofa seating and cosy places to sit in the bar. Didn't use the pool n spa but it looked fab.

The boot room was also one of the best, with heated boot prongs and individual ski racks for each room (please see diagram for putting skies in the rack).

Location of the hotel in Selva is the best- just over the road from the main lift and right in the middle of the town.

A worthy 4 star hotel that you'll find hard not to like.

The general manager, Susan, is fantastic. She works very hard to make you feel like a friend and she treats everyone like they are very important. The staff is excellent and very professional. Food is very good and they have a very comfortable bar with live piano music and a warm fireplace. They have a movie room and free Wi-Fi. There is an indoor pool and Jacuzzi and a great gym and spa area. They even have an area just for adults that is really quiet and peaceful.

Very close to the ski slopes.

The friendliest hotel you will stay at. Great rooms including a bath and make up mirror! Food is great and I was taken care of once I mentioned allergies/intolerances to certain foods. Sergio was very attentive and went through the whole menu every night to be sure I wasn't given anything I could react to. Suzy is truly amazing and works so hard to ensure that everyone is happy. Skiing in the whole Dolomiti area is great but Selva is the best place to stay. The Aaritz is just across the road from the Ciampanoi Gondola and you can ski back very close to the hotel.

Room Tip: Front rooms have the best views but some street noise.
