We decided at short notice to visit Sanremo with some friends, the Hotel Nazionale ticked all the boxes and received good recommendations in TripAdvisor. When we arrived parking was difficult as the hotel is at the end of a pedestrian area but the hotel showed us where we could unload our car and trollied the luggage into the hotel.
I noticed that one of the reports on the hotel commented on how small some rooms are, therefore I paid axtra for a larger room. Very glad we did as although the room was very nice it was not what I would call a large room.
Our bedroom was on the third floor facing the pedestrian street, whilst it was nice to face this area it was quite noisy at night despite the windows being doubled glazed. This might be due ti people leaving the Casino next door.
The location of the hotel is excellent at the west end of the Corso Matteotti, probably the best and most upmarket area in the city.
The hotel has a restaurant open to the public at street level, it is a very good restaurant with matching service and decor.
Breakfast is a bargain served at rooftop level. Plenty of choice and great views.
If I return to Sanremo this would be my choice of hotel.More
