Late sept great time of year to visit. Apt very spacious quiet location in very quiet village. There was a pool but too cold to swim but sea was lovely and warm. Site visit every day by caretaker who spoke good English if anything needs resolving. The internet went and was dealt with swiftly. Utensils fairly basic we always take a sharp knife everywhere could have done with a colander and ashtray but everything else you need.
Words alone cannot describe or do justice to the beauty and location of Villa Laura, apartment Emma (it's proper name) in Scala, Italy. My husband, 22 year old daughter and I had a week staying at the wonderful apartment/villa in June 2014, having booked through summerinitaly.com. Right from my initial contact with Summer in Italy to the end of our stay everything was first class and we couldn't fault anything.
This was our first trip to Italy so we weren't too sure what to expect, we certainly weren't disappointed. The Villa it's self is set in a perfect location with stunning views over Revello, but be prepared for a few twists and turns on your journey up, the scary drive is well worth the knuckle ride. The Villa is large and well maintained and equipped with everything you could ask for, 5 star luxury it's not, but that's its charm. The pool is a welcome break after a long hot day sightseeing.
Stefano our host and caretaker of the properties is on site twice a day or only a phone call away if needed. He was extremely polite and keen to ensure our stay was perfect, offering help and advice when needed and also booking a guide for us at Herculeum. The two housekeeping ladies and groundsman were around a couple of times during the week and whilst the didn't speak English (why should they after all), were happy to try and engage in conversation, which was quite funny.
Would we recommend Villa Laura, yes definitely, it was holiday heaven (for us anyway).
