“A very good, family run hotel”
Reviewed 2 June 2012

Well positioned for the historical centre of Prato. My room was comfortable and spacious; decor uninspiring but otherwise fine. The staff were, without exception, charming and extremely helpful. Lots of good restaurants and bars within short walking distance and train station very close also. Prato is a good base for visiting Florence, Pistoia, Bologna and there is a lot to see in the historical centre itself. Highly recommended.

Today after an extended airline trip we were welcomed to the Giardino and were helped far beyond the usual expectations in getting our delayed luggage from the airport. The hotel is well positioned and easily accessible. The room is comfortable and spacious.and fits all our European needs. This is a good base from which to operate if you find yourself in Prato, only a short train trip to Florence (which we plan on doing tomorrow.) Again, we so appreciated that the staff seemed as pleased as we were to be reunited with our bags!

I stayed here for three weeks whilst I was studying in Prato. The location was in the centre of prato, there was also a laundromat around the corner. The train station is a two minute walk so you're just twenty minutes away from Florence !

All the staff were lovely, a good variety with breakfast. Rooms are standard, but always clean and have everything you need. Fantastic!

Stayed for a week as part of a group. Run by a friendly and efficient family. Older hotel put modernized rooms. Very comfortable. Great location for exploring the Tuscany area. Easy access to train station and very good restaurants within a short walk from the hotel.

We stayed here while at a conference in Prato and honestly expected more. The room was spacious and relatively quiet, but the yucky old carpet and dingy walls could use upgrading! The room smelt like smoke. There was a bath, which was nice and the breakfast buffet was nicer than most Italian places. They make you fresh coffee to order.

There is a FABULOUS restaurant around the corner called Aroma di Vino, with great outdoor seating, a wonderful owner, great house wine, and lovely lovely food.

A Customer review: 'Hotel Giardino is the center's most modern hotel, with good sized rooms for the price and location, quality built-in furniture and large, firm beds. Another plus is the Risaliti family who run it: an extremely friendly bunch who have kept their little hotel in great shape since the 1930s'. Wonderful location, as the Hotel is placed at the corner of Duomo Square (with 12th century Dome - St.Stephen Cathedral with frescoes of Filippo and Filippino Lippi), in the historical center of Prato (with medieval walls and buildings), full of art, museums, historical buildings, shops, as well as fine/traditional Tuscan restaurants. Moreover, it is 5 minutes walk from the Monash Centre and about 3km from the business area of Macrolotto. The city and its surrounding area offer interesting and prestigious artistic itineraries, nature and gastronomy. An ideal base for exploring the Tuscany region. ... more   less
