We spent four unforgettable days in Praiano. This was a welcome break in between our visits to Paris and Rome. We flew into the Naples airport from Paris. We went through the host for the car service into Praiano. I recommend this over taking a bus or train, especially with the amount of luggage we were toting. Keep in mind that this is a stair-filled town and not for those who have a difficult time getting around by foot. We met our host at the base of the access route to the villa at the local grocery store, Tutto per Tutti. From there, we rolled our luggage up a hill to get to the villa. The Villa itself had the most amazing views. My mother-in-law was in love with the entire experience. One night she even slept outside on one of the patio loungers. There are a few local restaurants in the area. My husband and I took the stairs down to the base of the hill while my in-laws found that some of the local restuarants will send a car to come get you and will even drive you back. We had a somewhat difficult time figuring out the bus routes but once we did, we found it was cheap and easy to get to the neighboring towns. We spent quite a bit of time on the beach in Positano and even took the ferry to Capri where we hired a boat for a tour around the island. There are a couple of nice hiking trails near by as well. I'm told the garden on the front side of the villa is being turned into a small pool.
The villa itself is quite nice. They look every bit as nice as the pictures. I will say that a storm came through our first night in Praiano and took out the power. Each time the power flickered, the security system would sound and the emergency lighting turned out. The sound was not so bothersome but the lights made it hard to sleep. We discovered after the 4th time this occurred that there's a switch on the lights in each bedroom so you can turn those off manually. Outside of that, I couldn't say anything bad about this stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality in Praiano and the grocery store near the villa had everything we need to make nice meals in our villa. We had lunch most days on the patio using the pre-made pasta, salami, cheese, and wine that we found at the tutto per tutti. I would come back in a heartbeat!
