“Excellent Location, but needs updating. Great food.”
Reviewed 2 May 2012

The location and view are exceptional. We arrived in a downpour and the staff was very helpful with our bags and getting us settled in. The room was rather small, but had a king bed, a nice patio (which due to the weather, we never used) and a shower that was good, but not exceptional.

The funicular was not yet working as we were among the first guests of the year. The views were incredible even in the adverse weather.

We ate in the restaurant and I must say it was exceptional. We had one of the lightest ravioli dishes I have ever experienced. We would likely return just for that.

Room Tip: Rooms lower on the cliff, may require more steps, but are nearer the pool. Rooms higher on the clif...

My sister and I shared a long awaited, lovely trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy in the fall of 2011. The Le Agavi Hotel was the main stay of our trip. After a long and exhausting flight from California, we were welcomed at the Le Agavi with a gracious welcome. The staff was excellent and the front desk and restaurant the same. Our room had a great view of the ocean and surroundings, but was rather small. The worst part of the room were the beds which were like sleeping on bricks. The hotel did have a great shuttle to the town of Positano in which we used daily. Great added feature to go into town shop, eat, drink and return safely from the lecherous Italian men! My sister also loved the funicular they have on sight.

Room Tip: Great views from all of the rooms

The view was spectacular from the rooms and the restaurant. The bed and pillows were uncomfortably hard. There was no safe in the room and the hours for access to the front desk safe were inconvenient. The restaurant food was good but the wait staff was very surly. It’s questionable whether the total experience is worth the rates. I find it interesting that the response by the hotel to negative feedback seems to be "if you don't like it, stay some place else".

Dear Sirs,

We would like to know exactly when in October and in what room those clients stayed at Le Agavi. Furthermore, it would be useful to know their name since we think that the review is quite questionable and the person who wrote it never stayed at Le Agavi.

If we cannot get the aforesaid information, please remove the review from your site as it is false, against your rules and prejudicial against the image of our hotel.

Looking forward to your reply,

Kind regards

Maria Giovanna Castellano.

Situated 1000 feet above the Mediteranean, on a shear cliff. Most wonderful view of mountains and ocean from the extra large patio. room was luxurious, food the best i had in Italy. This was part of the Tauck Rome, Capri and Amalficoast tour.

We really loved our stay at Le Agavi. The service was superb. Our view from the room overlooked the water and town. It was breathtaking. We took the lift down to the beach every morning after a delicious breakfast and double espressos.
The bartender gave us olives from their garden.
The shopping was my favorite.
We would definitely love to stay on Positano again soon.

Room Tip: I would suggest asking for the sea view, but the junior suite with extra bathroom and sitting room i...
