We arrived there for our honeymoon on the first of September. The rooms are not very special, but given the history of the hotel and what it stands for we expected that. But they are clean the bathrooms are very good and everything worked fine, so what more do you need from your room! There is a small balcony were you can sit with a view over the marina and the hotel pool, which is very relaxing...

The staff were amazing with us, helped us a lot.. We had a small miscommunication with the taxi driver one day, and we called the hotel. The staff sorted everything over the phone and he was very helpful. We are very grateful to them for helping us book tours and helping us during our tours as well... The Katamaran tour they recommend is also very nice...

The downside of the hotel is the weak breakfast. This part can be improved a lot!!! Don't get your hopes up for the jacuzzi either, it is a small plastic jaccuzi at the door of the rooms, kids were using it for most of the time...

We did not try the pool though since the weather didn't help and it rained one day...but it looked nice...

One night it was very windy and cold, so we decided to eat at the hotel despite the bad experience of breakfast...We were blown back by how good the food was and how helpful the staff were during dinner... I would strongly recommend you try the wood over baked pizza and the grilled items, they are perfect in every way...

All in all, we had a very nice stay at the hotel and we do hope they improve breakfast a little, a little is all it needs actually...

A local recommended this hotel for its convenient location to Porto Cervo and credit to being historically the oldest hotel on the island. Staying in Porto Cervo was the last stretch of a two-week vacation for my husband and I. Every experience got better and better until we arrived here.

This is NOT a luxury hotel. The rooms are very basic and have a Montauk/NJ Summer beach vibe to them. Nothing wrong with that but if you want luxury, this is not the place.

The decor is incredibly odd and off-putting, that might have to do with its history, but I didn't make the connection.

The staff was very poor for their hospitality and customer service. They made zero effort to provide any recommendations or give helpful tips for getting around the area.

The air condition broke in the hotel during our stay and the staff tried to brush it under the rug like nothing was wrong. Only until we complained multiple times, did they bring a fan to our room.

Porto Cervo is more expensive than New York City, especially the cabs. I regret not renting my own car for this portion of our trip.

Overall Porto Cervo is beautiful and known for its beaches. If you want a luxury hotel and friendly/resourceful staff do not stay here.

We booked this hotel for 5 nights in late August/early September. It's one of the oldest hotels in the area with a great view of the harbour and a 10 minute walk to Porto Cervo's shopping area. The room was nice, we paid for an upgrade to a seaview but don't expect luxury finishes or furnishings - to some tastes this would be considered spartan but it is traditional for the area. The view and location are the highlights of the hotel but with them come downsides. Parking is a problem - there isn't enough! We paid an extra 30 Euros per night for a reserved parking space outside the hotel but be prepared for some issues. The parking is located on a fairly busy road and in the middle of an "S" bend. Each parking space is secured by it's own padlocked barrier, so ideally you'll need to park up before and after locking/unlocking the barrier each time - it's best if there are two of you (one to drive and one to deal with the barrier). The spaces are also quite tight as we experienced one evening when the (large) car next to us parked diagonally across our space meaning we couldn't access our space - this meant parking up and getting a replacement space/padlock from reception. Reception staff were very helpful and should be singled out for praise; maid service was discreet and prompt but service in the restaurant was poor. Breakfast was buffet style with coffee ordered via the waiters/waitresses whom it was an effort to get the attention of. We had dinner twice and I've provided a separate review for this under Kabuga (the restaurant's name).

Room tip: Book a room with a view of the harbour

I had very high expectations of our stay at this hotel and generally speaking we very much enjoyed our stay. We understood that accommodation in Sardinia is expensive, but given the price we paid, we had expected more refinement, as such you're paying for the location which is Stunning. Bathrooms are beautiful, rooms rather plain, Staff very helpful and friendly. Wi-Fi is odd, by the use of tokens which you had to collect from reception each day. I would describe the hotel as rather shabby chic, odd eclectic mix of art, wine and other artifacts around. Keep you expectation in check if you wish to stay here.

Room tip: Ensure you have a Sea view

2 couples arrived at 8-10 pm when restaurant was moderately busy, 70% full. The view across the harbor was fantastic. The waiter arrived 15 minutes later with 3 menus and did not return for 20 minutes. We requested a bottle of wine which took another 30 minutes to arrive after an extra reminder. We ordered pizzas x2 to share for starters (nice) and tuna x3 and steak X1 for mains. These took an age to arrive. The tuna was nicely cooked and topped with tomato, the steak was a large serve but was without any vegetables. We declined dessert and asked for our bill only to wait another 40 minutes before deciding to stand up and ask for the bill again before leaving. The restaurant would be well advised to employ more staff to cater for patrons needs. Great potential but poorly managed. Very disappointing.
