We stayed here for a good part of a week in July and had a great experience.

The best thing is the staff. The owners, the front desk staff, the wait staff in the dining room and bar, and even the chef work hard to please. From the reservation stage to our early-morning departure with a packed breakfast, the service could not have been more professional and helpful. This is not a small hotel, but the attitude of the staff felt more like a place with just 10-15 rooms.

Rooms. Very nice. Our room had a lot of afternoon sun exposure and was only barely cool enough at night, even though the outdoor temperature was very cool at night. The room has excellent blackout shutters, which helped in managing the sun. But even so you should know that in the hottest months it may be a bit warmer than you are used to (if you are used to sleeping with air conditioning).

In addition to the rooms, there are very nice indoor and outdoor areas for hanging out and having a drink, as well as a basement full of spa, kids activities, etc. Underground parking garage is very convenient, although no car is needed once you are there.

Location. The hotel location is right in the center of Ortisei, so a short walk to all the Ortisei restaurants, bus stop, lifts, etc. This is very convenient, but also implies a bit of noise. The town is mostly quiet during normal sleeping hours, but there is some significant construction noise starting early in the morning, as well as the occasional obnoxious motorcylists revving their engines late at night. This bothered us only a little. If you want super-quiet, you could stay somewhere farther up one of the mountains (or Ortisei could adopt stricter in its noise policies the way some other alpine resort towns have). But on balance the convenience of the Genziana location in the heart of the valley was the right choice, and we were very happy here. I say this even though my standard line when getting a hotel room is "I care more about quiet than anything else."

Meals. All rooms are half-board, which is not our usual preference. We usually seek out the best local restaurants for dinner and enjoy the variety this creates. But overall we were very happy with the dinner experience here. This is more banquet-style dining for a large number of guest than it is a small fine dining restaurant. But the overall quality of the food was very good, and an upside is that even a multi-course meal does not take the whole night. There was a good number of options for each of the may courses each night. The extensive salad bar was quite good and a very welcome change from the meager selection of vegetables (much less fresh vegetables) we're used to finding on hiking trips in this broad region of the world. And, again, the service was outstanding. After a day or so, the staff all knew us and really anticipated our needs extremely well. My son cannot eat gluten or corn, which is a difficult combination. The wait staff and kitchen were very knowledgeable and conscientious, worked with us, provided excellent substitutions, and made my son feel like this was not a problem. We really appreciated this. One of the wait staff in particular (the one who sings on Wednesday nights!) was particularly helpful, friendly, and enthusiastic. Breakfast buffet was extensive and great. When we left after our last dinner, one of the waiters said "see you next year?" and I hope we will indeed be back.

It was amazing week in beautiful hotel. Staff did exceptional work to make our family stay perfect and helped in any situation. Food was as good as in any star restaurant. Location can't be better both for skiers and non-skiers. We will be back next year!!!

We have just returned from a week’s skiing with Crystal staying at this wonderful Hotel. From the moment we arrived the customer service was 100%. Katia on Reception welcomed us with a huge smile and a very simple check in before taking us to our room.

The room was much larger than expected with a lovely seating area leading out on to a balcony. Spotlessly cleaned, lots of fresh fluffy towels and so much storage and hanging space! Bathrobes and slippers are provided as standard which are great to use to go down to the Spa.

Franco and all the staff in the Restaurant were efficient and attentive speaking very good English. The food was to a very high standard and they even catered for our special requirements without any issues. We cannot thank them enough for that. The entertainment on Thursday night in the Restaurant was spectacular, so thank you Franco for making us laugh so much.

The position of the Hotel in this lovely town is perfect for skiers with a short walk to the gondola that takes you up onto the Alpe-Di Siusi skiing area and almost next door to the escalators that take you up to the Seceda gondola.

The boot room is to a very high standard with heated boot prongs in every secure locker (accessed by your room card). The room is a little tiny with only one seating area which did cause a bit of congestion at busy times.

We hope to be back in 2018.

spent a week here, right in the middle of the village, close to the ski lifts, great food, unlimited and delicious, always smiling staff, super weather though no snow since november though enough snow on the slopes, Ortisei is famous for its wood cuts, beautiful handcrafted and painted, great souvenir to take back
