The museum is on the main square of Norcia and housed on a 500 years old imposing fortified palace which was the residence of the governors of the pope. There is not that much on the museum, which has a lot of space available. An eclectic and unusual combination of beautiful collections of Etruscan, Greek and Roman art and artifacts gifted from local families, some local memorabilia, some religious paintings and sculptures and some remaining of a nearby necropolis. During our visit there was a temporary exhibition of local art and photography.
