La Corte del Cavalierino is a hidden jewel near the splendid town of
Montepulciano. There are many "agriturismo" facilities in the area, but this one caught our eye quickly while we were searching for a place for a longer stay.
You get a location accessible by two different roads, which is very convenient when you plan to explore around the area. One of the roads has a spectacular view of Montepulciano as a bonus.
The complex itself is divided in 3 areas:
- the admin area that also doubles as a tasting zone;
- the first block of apartments where the pool and jacuzzi are located and
- an area about 200 meters away, where an old school was reconditioned into 3 beautiful apartments. We stayed in one of these, called "Lucia"
Each of these apartments is built into two levels. They are centrally heated and you have everything you need from included private parking to a BBQ grill, including a fully equipped kitchen. Wine and olive oil bottled in the premises will be available on the room as you arrive. The place is very private and secure.
Just the beauty of the area will be enough to make it work your stay, but to that you can add a level of service rarely found even in 5 star accommodations. Our hostess, Giulia, was fantastic. One thing to note: the agriturismo does not have a restaurant, so you are on your own for lunch and dinner, which is not an issue really, since you have Montepulciano 5 minutes away and brimming with all kinds of great food options. For breakfast, you will be provided with the basics: various kinds of bread, a delicious pie, a Nescafe coffee machine, juices, cereal, butter, jams, etc. Just go out there and buy a few eggs, fruit and cheese and you will have a more than adequate breakfast: you have a full kitchen after all!
Our only regret was not being able to stay longer! I fully recommend this place for your stay if you are interested in exploring Tuscany on a different level.More
