We were referred to this restaurant by Cinzia at the wonderful Locanda di San Francesco. Her recommendation did not disappoint. We walked down to the restaurant from town. The walk down was fine. The walk up a little more challenging, but then again, we had a wonderful meal to burn off. We were warmly greeted by our host and shown to a quiet table for two in the back. The restaurant is elegantly appointed, with soft lighting and warm colors -- perfect for a romantic dinner. There is an outdoor terrace, but the evening was a little chilly and the terrace was closed; a pity, but understandable. Without going into great details, every single course was delicious. Our waiter was perfect and the timing impeccable. We never felt rushed, but never had to look for our waiter either. A particularly fantastic dish was the tagliatelle with shaved white truffle (See photo below). Have you ever seen so much truffle on a plate? We drank a wonderful Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (Poderi Sanguineto I e II, Riserva 2009, for those who are interested in such things) and finished the evening with a delightful dessert. This was an expensive meal, but not outrageous, and a great value. I highly recommend it.
