Our room was on the second floor overlooking the pool with pleasant views over the countryside. Room 212. The staff were so friendly that it was as if we were staying with old friends, despite this being our first visit, but not the last. The hotel is situated a short pleasant stroll through the park from the center of Montecatini Terre which is a pleasant little Italian town well served by the railway station for trips to Pisa and Florence. We stayed as part of a large group and the food was very good indeed. Compliments to the chef and the kitchen staff. The pool was well used and quiet just what is required after a day's sight seeing around the countryside. I have to say that we found the staff, all of them, very helpful and very friendly. This is a small family owned hotel does its job exceedingly well and we will likely be back soon.

Room tip: The rooms on the pool side have small balconies and it is quite nice to sit out on in tne morning.

Great hotel. Peaceful location and pool very peaceful and classy.
We had a lovely double room overlooking the pool.
The staff are lovely and welcoming and we have got to know them over the past five years.
This place feels like home when we are here and would recommend it to anyone.

Having stayed at the Torretta on several occasions our recent stay did not disappoint. We would like to thank Gabriel and the Simoncini family for yet again making our stay first class in every way. Nothing is too much trouble for the family and their staff. We would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone visiting the area, and we will certainly be returning in the future.

A pleasant enough hotel with staff who try hard to please but has a rather tired feel. Dining chairs are uncomfortable and food fairly average and repetitive. Breakfast was not of the highest quality and rooms need updating. The main problem for us was the number of steps everywhere in the hotel. It is convenient for those wishing to use the funicular but not so convenient for the centre of town.

We stayed here as part of a long weekend away in Tuscany. We had visited Pisa for the day and stayed here for two nights. We only used the hotel as a base really, as we spent most of our time exploring, but I will review based on our experience.
We got to the train station and asked for a taxi to take us to the hotel. To be honest, we were quite surprised at the distance between the train station and the hotel - it would've been a good half an hour walk, so for our stay we had to pay for taxis between the hotel and the station, which wasn't ideal.
Check in was thorough and the man who checked us in was very friendly and knowledgeable, recommending places for us to visit and telling us the time for the funicular. The hotel was ideally situated for Montecatini Alto and the funicular, that was only a few minutes walk away, and is absolutely stunning, especially at sunset!
We found our double room adequate for our two night stay, with a small balcony with a beautiful view out over the hills. The hotel itself is very old fashioned and traditional, in fact the room smelt quite musty and was almost antique-like in appearance. But we didn't mind too much as we were in and out to visit the surrounded areas and Florence. Pisa was about 30 minutes away by train, Florence the same.
We had breakfast included, but we didn't have the time in the morning to eat it because we had to be at the train station to catch our train.
Overall. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I wouldn't stay here again if we were using it as a base to explore Tuscany, simply due to the distance from the centre. But - it's proximity to the funicular almost made up for this. Almost. We noticed there was a swimming pool too, but it was too cold to experience that.
