We stayed here as part of a group. The owners spoke little English but everyone got by. Breakfast was a continental type with add ons. Plenty of cold meats and cheese, bacon, hard boiled eggs and thin mini ?omelettes. Cereals, yoghurts, fruit juices, breads etc. Dinner comprised of local dishes which you ordered the night before. Some nights the dining room was full to bursting others it was not busy.
Our accommodation was in the annexe on the first floor. . The beds were comfortable. There were shelves but only one drawer and only one hanger for trousers. There was a safe. We had air con but the only natural light came from a glass door out onto a long narrow corridor/ balcony out through the roof. We could get fresh air through the door but the air con was in the roof space so it was noisy when on. The air con was aimed down at you in bed which was uncomfortable.
The bonus was a fridge, the downfall was the plumbing. No separate shower just a hand held shower head on a long hose in the deep bath. No way of taking a shower without soaking the bathroom. The bath plug did not work, no plug in the bidet. The sliding toilet seat was soon mended. Not a good bathroom for a couple of oldies like us.
The swimming pool looked good. They had a few towels to borrow.
Very few comfortable chairs for evenings. Plenty of tables and chairs near the bar.
Having said that we enjoyed the hotel despite its idiosyncrasies.
We used a variety of transport whilst we were there. The bus stops outside( buy your tickets before your journey). Some members of the group walked down the hill to the town through the fields and came back by taxi or bus.
There is a mini market nearly opposite .
The advantage of this hotel is that it is out of town up a winding road. It is in a quiet position with plenty of green space and good parking. We were glad we were not driving as the roads in the towns were very very narrow and twisting with little space to park. The scenery is idyllic particularly when you can see the lake.
