Just back from a very enjoyable week in the Verdeluna Aparhotel. Our apartment on the 4th floor was exceptionally spacious and well appointed. There is also a very nice rooftop pool and access to bicycles to explore the local neighbourhood and nearby town and beach at Marina di Pietrasanta. The staff were very friendly and I would highly recommend this hotel for families.

We just returned from an Italy trip and had the pleasure of staying at Verde Luna for 5 nights. The hotel rooms are actually small apartments with kitchen facilities.
The swimming pool on the roof offers breathtaking views of the Carrara Mountains. (It may look like snow at the top, but it is Carrara White Marble.)
Breakfast each day was a treat. Mary, one of the owners bakes the pastries herself and they were wonderful. A nearby grocery store made finding a good bottle of wine and preparing meals easy. The hotel is a short drive from Pisa, Lucca and Carrera.
Bikes are available for rental at 5 euro per day and the seaside is only 3K away with a pedestrian/bike path that goes for miles.
Marco and Mary the owners take great pride in the facility and it is spotlessly clean.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room tip: The apartments on the 3rd floor were slightly larger than those on the second.

My husband and I and our 8 month old baby stayed here for a week at the beginning of September and we could not fault the place, it exceeded our expectations. The photos on the website don't do it justice. We were expecting an average 3* hotel but the standard of accommodation was fantastic. The apartment was very spacious with decent size separate kitchen (fully equipped with big fridge and freezer compartment) and huge balcony. The place was absolutely spotlessly clean and they had provided a highchair in the kitchen and a cot free of charge for our son which was great. There is also free parking in an secure underground car park which is a fab bonus. There is a beautiful pool of a decent size on the roof top with a view of the Tuscan mountains.

We got to the hotel at around 10pm and we had not had anything to eat so my husband asked the owner, Marco if he knew any pizzeria near by that would be open, as we did not know the area Marco jumped in his car and my husband followed him to a pizzeria that was still open. Marco also gave us some pieces of cake his wife had baked on arrival which was a lovely touch.

Breakfast was simple but satisfying and Mrs Marco made really yummy fresh cakes every day for the breakfast and the coffee was great and bottomless. You could pop down to the lobby during the day and get a coffee when ever you wanted too.

The area suited us great, the hotel is in a quite, tranquil neighbourhood and is a leisurely 10 min walk from the shops and restaurants of Marina di Pietresanta and the same distance to the beach. Like most place in Italy the beach is nearly all privately owned and you pay for an umbrella or cabana for a day or week. We paid €40 for a cabana for a day at a beach club Marco recommended- can't remember the name now! But it was good and had a pool and nice changing facilities. Further along the coast in forte di marmi it is much more expensive and not as nice.

From the hotel we spent a day in Lucca which was lovely, a day in Viereggio (not as nice) and an evening in Pietresanta town itself. Would highly recommend Pietresanta as it is very characterful and full of quirky art galleries and shops and lovely restaurants. We also ate at one of the 5 Michillin star restaurants near by- la magnolia in Forte dei Marmi ( in hotel Byron).

All in all we had a fab holiday here and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing time and in particular anyone travelling with a baby.

Great location in beach town. Not touristy at all. Great pool on the roof and rooms were very comfortable with kitchenettes. Owners were very helpful in arranging day trips/activities. Hotel is walking distance to the beach, with lots of beach clubs to go to for very reasonable rates (7eu per person per day). Hotel had lovely breakfast provided either out in the garden or in your room. Also had bicycles to rent for the week we were there. Ate out in 3 neighboring towns: Forte di Marmi, Pietrasanta and Marini di Pietrasanta - all very close by. We and our kids, ages 10 and 13, loved it!
