The warm welcome and the extra effort of the owners could not easily be surpassed. We were a group of 13 chaps of like minded hard-core cyclists. So not your average villa group but certainly not of the stag party / night animal variety either. The route up to the villa and attached apartment did not fill us with promise but once the gates were opened: Wow, every jaw dropped as we surveyed the palatial layout and facilities. It would be an ideal romantic setting for up to four couples or would equally suit for a two or three families with children.
On two nights after cycling well over 110km, we had meals cooked for us by the owners and the attention to detail, quality of the food and friendly atmosphere were outstanding, resulting in spontaneous applause! The make up of the dishes and the source of locally produced food was explained and it was all delicious and the value including wine at 20 euros each (x13 in our case) was fantastic. Many top class restaurants would fall way short.
The area is ideal for cyclist or general visitor to this lovely region, obviously huge hills plus a volcano for you to visit or in our case cycle up.
