This is the third time I have stayed in this hotel. Its business oriented, rooms are comfortable, you can open the windows for fresh air and its spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is located right opposite the old castle which is a breath taking view each and everytime. Ferrara is a very unique Italian city, small but comfortable. One of its best features is that no cars are allowed within the city, everyone rides a bicyle or walk. There are also quite a few good authentic restaurants all within walking distance from the Hotel, very good Italian cuisine.

Room Tip: Beware of the noise level late at night from people in the streets. Ask for a room closer to the ba...

I spent two weeks here while working nearby but as I am to be going back again soon I am looking for somewhere else to stay.
The room I had was spartan, the bed was extremely hard, I had two windows which both let in minimal light as they looked out on a central funnel is all I can describe it as.
Wireless or dedicated internet connection has to be paid for and is expensive.
Oh and before I forget, the room stank of toilet drains for the entire fortnight.

We had an alright time here and the staff was generally very nice with a couple of exceptions. This was a bit under what we would normally expect from a 4 Star hotel. No free internet or Wi-Fi in the rooms for example - so doing simple tasks like checking email was a chore. The television only had a few channels, and the rooms were generally pretty modest in both size and appointment.

The location is exceptional, but not the only hotel in the castle square. The Annunziata is literally just a stone's throw away - has huge rooms - free internet the works for the same price.

That said, the hotel's associated restaurant next door called "Big Night" is run by Diego who is literally a culinary genius and an effete professional in every sense of the word.

Room Tip: Bring 12 Euro a night to pay for internet in your room.
