Stayed in Hotel Majoni for a week in January 2018. The Hotel was clean and comfortable and in a great central location in Cortina. The staff were very helpful and polite, and answered any questions. There was a great buffet breakfast and buffet evening meal. Also afternoon tea in the bar. The ski bus stop was 50 yards from the front door, which made it easy to get to and from the slopes.
I would definitely stay at the Hotel Majoni again when I next visit Cortina.

I was not sure what to expect with this hotel, because the cost was low compared to other Cortina hotels and I didn't see many reviews. However, we were very pleased with this hotel!! The rooms were clean and had much storage space for luggage and clothing. The mountain views from our windows were beautiful. The hotel had spacious common areas on ground floor to relax if you wanted. The breakfast was good and each room had assigned table for the entire stay, and came with excellent service. The lobby staff was very helpful. Only issue we had is that we needed to check out early on our departure and the staff wasn't available until around 7:30am.

My wife and I stayed at the Majoni for a week during the English February half term having booked a package with a Inghams in the UK. The hotel is a classic, elegant four star over about four floors and is well maintained.

The location is ideal being only a couple of minutes walk from the Corsa Italia which is the main pedestrian thoroughfare with chic Italian shopping. There are a couple of bars and tea shops very near the hotel.

Our room at the front of the hotel on the second floor was a decent size, with a good bathroom. freshly decorated, comfortable and well equipped. We had a balcony with lovely views of Cortina and the mountains beyond. The hotel public areas were spacious and clean with different areas for reading or playing cards with sofas, comfy chairs. There was a separate ski room for storing skis and boot, although small it was perfectly adequate. There was free wi-fi which worked throughout the hotel.

We had half board with breakfast and dinner. Food was very good, the buffet dinners changed every night and featured local dishes. The Italian wine list was interesting and reasonably priced. The Italian dress code for dinner is smarter than on a chalet holiday. Breakfast was what you would expect.

The staff, including the reception, housekeeping, restaurant, and chef (who served the buffet) were all very friendly, spoke good English and were happy to help and give us information.

There is a ski bus stop almost in front of hotel with buses to all the ski areas (numbers 3 and 8). Most people in Cortina drive to the lifts but with a bus stop this close its better to take the bus even if you have a car as parking at some of the ski lifts become crowded. We had a great weeks ski-ing in the resort, with well groomed pistes and no lift queues. There were plenty of good quality reasonably priced mountain restaurants to choose from.

We had a lovely week and considered the whole experience as value for money.

We were transferred to this very comfortable hotel due to a problem at Park Victoria hotel and were very pleased with the ambience of the Majoni. The staff were very friendly and obliging especially Elena on Reception. Our room was spacious and comfortable and well maintained by our maid Brenda, it had great views across the valley to the Tofana mountain area. It has it's own small boot & ski room just off reception.
Dining option was buffet style for breakfast and dinner with plenty of choice and good quality. You would never go hungry but don't expect a full cooked English breakfast - although scrambled eggs and Italian bacon were available every day, (if you want Capaccino coffee just ask the waiter). Only drawback was the bar does not have draft beer and has a small selection of bottled ones. However, for après ski drinks we found a nice Pizzeria/Bar 50 metres to the left across the road in front of the Panda Hotel, which had a good selection of drinks with several beers (5 euros for a large beer, 2.50 euros for a draught glass of wine, 7 euros for Gin & Tonic).
Location for the ski bus was ,just 50 metres away to the right. The buses ran regularly approx every 15 minutes to Faloria, Tofana Gondolas and Socrepes. To get to Cinque Torre/Col Galina ski areas you need to change buses at the bus station but they are not as frequent and the journey is longer, 30-40 minutes.
Overall we would recommend this hotel for your stay. It is only a few minutes walk to the main pedestrianised street "Corso Italia" with shops, bars and restaurants and 10-12 minutes walk to the bus station.
For the non-skier there are walks around the village and in both directions along cleared walks/cycle-ways, you can walk for miles on these with views of the mountains. Also, there is a bus called the "Cortina Express" which runs every day and takes you to the outskirts of Venice for 54 Euros return. It stops at Metres and it is then a short walk to the train station where for under 3 Euros return you catch a train into Venice over the Lagoon. As you leave the station in Venice you are on the Grand Canal and can walk or take a waterbus to St Marks. There are little kiosks where you can buy a decent map for 3 Euros. My husband recommends the walk via the Rialto Bridge to St Marks and then catch a waterbus back down the Grand Canal to the train station.

The hotel is very average. The whole place needs refurbishment as its decor is drab and carpets threadbare and stained. Although the rooms are clean and warm it is disappointing for the price we paid. We had booked half board but the food was really not up to the standards that we expect on a skiing holiday. Breakfast especially was poor, tinned fruit peaches or pineapple, 3 cereals and yoghurt, with a poor selection of bread and pastries. Dinner was particularly dull, hot and cold buffet, which was almost the same every night. The beds are big but very hard and after skiing it was difficult to sleep comfortably.

On the up side the rooms had plenty of wardrobe space. We had a lovely view, we were close to the town centre and the bus stop was outside the hotel.

The staff are helpful and friendly but this doesn't compensate for the fact it is a downmarket hotel in a glamorous resort. No jaccuzzi, no steam room, no spa, no afternoon tea and coffees with cakes for apres ski, so we didn't want to spend any time in the hotel if we could help it.

Pay extra and go to another hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you face the front of the hotel and have a view. If offered, don't take room 102
