nice room, quiet and immaculate. the staff are very accommodating and helpful. the breakfast buffet (included) was the best I had in Italy - yogurt, cereal, toast, boiled eggs, croissant, cakes, juices, coffee etc. The beach is a leisurely 10 minute stroll away.

Room tip: good anywhere but the entrance is down a flight of stairs which is not wheelchair accessible

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We selected it because it offered parking. There is a small parking lot at the back (they give you a map to it when you pull up to register). Location is good, a less than 5 minute walk to the historic center, We were in a spacious 4-person room even though we were just a couple. Excellent wi-fi. An added bonus was Sky TV with english channels. The desk in the room was practical. In room fridge. Bed is very firm. Bathroom was fine, good water pressure with plentiful hot water and the best hotel hair dryer so far. Staff was very friendly and everyone spoke good english. The breakfast spread was excellent: meats, cheeses, bread, eggs, croissants, several cereals, yogurt, sweets, 5 different kinds of juice and of course tea and all types of coffee. The Superstore Deco is a good supermarket that is only 2 blocks away. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

This hotel is near the rail station but there's no nuisance noise from the trains. It's well located for the beach (5-10 mins walk) and also for the old town. Breakfast is better than others I've had in Italy.
Only downsides were very hard beds and pillows (I think that's how Italians like them) and the bathroom fittings were very dated. Our toilet flush was faulty and wasn't fixed.

This was the ideal hotel for our first trip to Sicily. The location was perfect - across from the train station, so great for our journeys from Palermo and day trip to Taormina. The hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Angelo, checked and printed off the train timetable for our trip to Taormina without us even asking. Our room was comfortable and kept in pristine condition by the cleaning staff. The shower was hand held but powerful, which we liked, however, the shower cubicle with sliding doors was a bit tight in terms of space. The reception area was welcoming and brightly furnished with several attractive
mirrors, arm chairs and sofas. Breakfast was good with a variety of cakes, croissants, toast ,cereals, jams etc. A boiled egg was also part of the selection as well as cheese, ham and fresh fruit, We liked the pretty teapots and egg cups! Another plus was the close proximity to the beach, ten minutes walk and in the opposite direction five minutes walk and we were in the the town centre which felt safe at night lots of families out until quite late. Numerous restaurants and cafes as well as places of interest - beautiful all round! We would definitely return to Hotel Mediterraneo on our next trip to Cefalu.
