Paid nearly £900 through Inghams for a half board ski week.

I had contacted the hotel twice before arrival to request a quiet room on the top floor. This was not followed up and my room was mid level and opposite the lift.

It was extremely small with a small balcony facing the village. The bathroom was pocket sized too - you could sit on the loo, clean your teeth and wash your feet in the shower all at once! We had no running cold water for the first two days but hotel did fix this.

Sound proofing is minimal.

The first floor is completely refurbished - seeking glimpses of my co travellers’ rooms. Other levels the facilities are much shabbier. The family rooms have the best space and a bathroom with a bath too.

We were not given a warm or organised welcome. The complexities of the dinner menu ordering system were many. And though some staff were willing most did not speak English and seemed rushed and relatively ambivalent towards us!

We were corralled in a very narrow part of the dining room where we felt squashed and unable to mingle - we were a large group so not the easiest perhaps?

The food was ok. The salad bar was my favourite. But really not good. Also haphazard on delivery and the buffet was a scrum of squashed diners. At breakfast too.

The very worst thing was being charged 1eu for tap water. With kids at the table too. I don’t actually think this is legal. I did question one member of staff who explained that it was for the ‘service’. It felt quite wrong and rather greedy to me. Particularly as we had no drinking water in the room for two days.

The ski boot room was also TINY so very difficult to manoeuvre within during leaving and arriving for skiing.

The landtrain passed every 10 minutes or so just outside the hotel and meant you didn’t need to walk the 500 m to the gondola lift up to the ski area. When there was cold fresh conditions there is a return run nearly back to the hotel. The hotel faces a pretty old church. And there is also a pleasant south facing cafe and terrace there.

All in all I can report our stay was just ok. I did not avail myself of the fitness room, sauna or steam room in the basement - but received good reports from others.

The best part of the stay was the care taken to make us feel comfortable by Marie-Thérèse- the manager of the basement night club. She gave excellent advice re places to ski and was always warm and honest. A big thank you to her.

The food provided at this hotel was very poor, cold on occasion, often lacking in any flavour
The shower was very small, barely room to move
The boot room looks to have been designed when the hotel was smaller, very narrow & very limited number of boot warmers for the size of hotel

Sauna, steam room & hot tub a welcome bonus for tired legs

Our week in hotel Bellevue in Canazei was fantastic, thanks to a number of things. First of all, the location of the hotel is PERFECT if you are interested slope access and staying in Canazei. The staff is very friendly and forthcoming and the food is very good, both vegitarian and non-vegitarian. The spa area is maybe not very up to date or prioritized by the hotell but there is a sauna, steam sauna and jacuzzi. The afters-ski in the basement is really good even though Paradis just around the corner packs more people. The little piazza just outside the hotel, next to the pitoresque little church is also a perfect spot for an aperol spritz in the sun!

Room tip: Rooms facing the valley has a wonderful view

5-10 minute walk to the Bellvedere gondala and ski bus stop. First class customer service from all the staff and very good food with plenty of choices. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Excellent shower.

The hotel is well positioned for the lift & is situated in a lovely square by the church.
Staff were helpful & friendly.
Food was average, the buffet component is not topped up all the time so best be early for dinner. Drink was a reasonable price.
Ski room is small & in places narrow so mornings could be a juggling act when folk were getting boots on. simply moving a bench would help a tiny bit
Room was clean & bed comfortable BUT bathroom was very small & poorly designed as toilet could only be used with feet in shower.
To be honest I almost gave a 2 because of the bathroom but the staff being helpful pushed me to a 3.
