This is a quirky b&b hotel that has character and charm. Stayed with Tui from 2nd September for one week in room 206. We were three adults in one room and had plenty of room. Rooms basic but clean with crisp bedding which was changed half way during the week. Beds not very comfortable. We were glad of the air conditioning as it was so hot and it was on continually. Flat screen TV on wall and telephone and wardrobe and desk. Bathroom was modern and clean with plenty of fluffy towels which were changed daily. We had shower, toilet, sink and bidet and had plenty of room. We took our own kettle and hairdryer. Our room was facing the back without a balcony and was very quiet during the night.
Breakfast was help yourself and eaten on the patio. Again, everything was very clean and all the glasses sparkled. Good selection of cold items for breakfast and lovely juice and coffee from machines. Different cut fruit every day otherwise the same. Ham, cheese, eggs, cereal, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, breads, yogurt, cakes, croissants etc. The lady looking after the breakfast worked very hard keeping the place fully stocked and clean.
Excellent location on the main road between Bardolino and Cisano. Bus stop either way right outside. Only a short walk across the road to the lake. Lake has a lovely walkway and we used the free bikes from the hotel daily to get about. If you turn left on the lake you come to Cisano where there was a lovely pizzeria on the main road, Pizza Al Taglio. Slices of pizza €3 and bottle of wine €7.50 or water €1. Staff good English and very friendly. You can eat on the tables outside. Lovely. Lidl and Spar are on the same main road as the hotel and just minutes away which is handy for drinks for the room (Prosecco very cheap). If you turn right on the lake you come to Bardolini. Here you can get a ferry or Tourist Information and loads of shops and nice ice cream. Lovely to wander at night. We never bothered with a sweet after dinner and instead had an ice cream. Ice cream €1.50 for one scoop and price the same everywhere (even in Venice). The walk along the lake into Bardolino takes about 15 minutes but about 10 if you walk along main road. Market in Bardolino on a Thursday along the lake which was interesting and buzzing. You can walk to Garda from Bardolino but we took the ferry for €3 each way.
We bought a 3 day ticket for the bus which was €20 and used it to explore the bottom half of the lake, Malcesine, Verona and Gardaland. Garldaland was fun and inexpensive to eat there. We pre-booked a trip with the local bus service to Venice for €35 each, got ticket from tourist information. This was a good day out and we thoroughly enjoyed Venice. Be aware that it does not include the boat transfer into St Mark's Square. It is possible to get to Verona and Venice easily by train from Peschiera.
Staff worked hard and were there 7 days a week. Special thanks to Alfreddo on reception who was very helpful and accommodating. We would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel. The only down side is it has nowhere to sit other than your room and one settee outside. Ok when it is hot but not so good if the weather is bad. If you want a hotel with a pool and bar area this is not for you but if you want somewhere clean and safe to stay while you are out exploring, go for it. We did and thoroughly enjoyed it. The area is very safe and plenty to do. Reception closed at 10 pm and access was via a locked side door after this time. No staff on duty over night. We were a bit worried the first night but not an issue as the area is so safe, other residents were lovely and no noise at all during the night, despite our room being at the top of the stairs.
