Rented for the summer in Comunanza and have spent many lunchtimes on Ascoli P and at various restaurants. This one had been closed at a time we wanted to visit, so today we lucked out! A quiet Thursday. Lovely and tiny interior with touches of red, including their Murano glass chandelier.
Very nice bottle of local Bianca Passerina.
Ascolino olives..excellent! An extremely fresh mista salad, and both had the porcini risotto. Fabulous and fresh as well
We have enough Italian to mostly understand the menu offerings, and the owner helped us with the rest! Very welcoming and excellent food!

Thank Alan B

Ascoli is a bit off the regular tourist path so it gets to be a bit more authentic in its offerings. this includes an all italian menu so bring a dictionary to avoid disappointment when the food arrives. having said that, most everything is delicious. with my husband being a vegetarian, I find that most time his dishes dont often disappoint. dishes are traditional but with unconventional twists. Their risotto with porcini (must be ordered for at least 2 people) was wonderful.

make a reservation ahead, it's a small cozy place and it fills up fast (mostly with locals).

We visited this restaurant due to all the reviews on Trip Advisor. To be honest we didn’t enjoy this restaurant. The menu was in Italian and the waitress didn’t speak any English, so we didn’t know what we were ordering. This is totally our fault, as we don’t speak any Italian. It was a bit of a surprise to what we ordered, but when it arrived the food was average. My partner had a pasta dish, which tasted a bit like Cup a Soup and was not great. I think I had a Beef T Bone Steak, which was well done in the middle and rare on the outside. Maybe if we had understood the menu better, then we may have had a better experience. The review is based on the food that we received.

We arrived at opening since we had no reservation, within minutes it started to fill up with locals. Food was excellent, especially the local fried stuffed olives. Only one server and as time went by service declined. We waited 20 minted after we asked for our check to get it. Side note: why go out to eat together when you sit at the table texting or whatever and not present with others, one man was on his phone for 15 minutes and he was very distracting and loud.

Nice cozy ambiance. Husband and wife, with husband as chef. Creative twists on classics. Dishes are presented in a manner that facilitates sharing tastes. Focused menu, but wanted to try everything. Every dish was well seasoned and balanced. Solid wine list with good guidance from owner.
