Spent five nights at the Grand Hotel. Completely enjoyable. It is located right in the center of the pedestrian zone, so you can drive up to the hotel and easily find parking in their ample lot and garage, then wander through the lobby and right out into the pedestrian zone stretching in each direction (shops, cafes, restaurants, etc.). The antique furnishings in the lobby area and lounge add a nice, old world charm. You can also lounge outside of the lobby area and also in the middle of the pool area. On our first night, the hotel hosted a free evening get together in the lobby lounge, complete with prosecco and hearty appetizers. Breakfasts were sumptuous and the lunch and supper meals changed daily (and were wonderful). The spa facilities are excellent - you have robes, towels, bags, and slippers, provided in your room for use in the spa areas. Internet is free and available throughout the hotel. My room was on the third floor at the end of a corridor away from the lobby, and the signal was quite sufficient for me to conduct my normal work on the internet. When I wanted to download a large video (movie), I moved towards the lobby area, just to speed up the download. Hotel check in and check out were extremely efficient and professional. Tatiana checked us in, gave us a tour of the hotel and facilities, confirmed restaurant and spa hours, then showed us to our room. All of the restaurant/bar servers were prompt and friendly. Not all of the staff wore nametags, so I could not write all of the names down of those most helpful (they were busy tending to everyone). One young server, Fabio, did have a nametag on so I single him out for excellent service both in the pool lounge area and in the lobby lounge area. Since my visit was in April and my room was on the third floor facing the pool area, it was quite warm - hot. It was too early in the season for the air conditioning system to be turned on, and while it cooled off nicely outside, my room would not cool down even with the patio door completely open. The staff did turn off the radiator heating towel rack in the bathroom, but the room still remained quite warm, so they brought in a floor fan that helped circulate the air in the room with some of the outside air. The solution proved to be quite satisfactory. Had the rooms been equipped with ceiling fans, the floor fan would probably not have been necessary. I appreciated the hotel staff trying to do what it could to assist. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel and I plan to return again with other family members.

Room tip: For this trip in April the lower floors were cooler, whereas my room on the third floor (facing the pool area) was quite hot.

Grand Hotel Trieste & Victoria is a bit of heaven on earth. From the moment you arrive in Abano, you have a feeling of serenity and calm. The hotel is like something you have never seen. The rooms are as large as apartments and we had a view over all the main spa pools. In the pools each one isa different temperature.in one of the pools there are exercise bikes inside the water to ride on.The gardens are beautiful and serene. All meals can be eaten at the hotel. Each one is a culinary delight, with so many choices. To be able to use the mud baths you must be examined by a medical doctor, or else you cannot use them. all beauty and health treatments are available.this hotel is of course a health spa hotel, as the whole town is a spa town. At night we joined all the other people in the street and had a ice cream.the hotel staff are coutreous and friendly beyond belief. I only hope we can return another time because this hotel and town will stay in my memory forever.

Room tip: ask for a room overlooking the pool

The staff at Grand Hotel Trieste & Victoria was fantastic. It starts at the top with the wonderful GM Paulo who ensures every guest feels welcome and special. The rooms were beautiful: very comfortable with a beautiful view of the pool. We loved the warm pools, and the spa was fantastic as well. Breakfasts were outstanding. Would highly recommend this property!

Room tip: Request a suite overlooking the pools.

We choose Trieste & Victoria to have a week of 5 star pampering and booked for a "recently renovated Elegance room". Expecting a luxurious bed and interior we were shocked to see a run down '60 interior with a mattress and pillows that should have been thrown in the garbage 40 years ago. Upon asking the manager for an explanation he was kind enough to show us several types of rooms including a suite, But all with the same tired furniture, which you do not see on the hotel's photograps. His comments on the "recently renovated" description was that people misinterpret that phrase....some rooms were indeed renovated in 2011 by changing the (beautiful) parquet flooring with (cheap) laminate!
With little sleep at night due to the rock hard mattresses and pillows, we caught up on rest by the many thermal pools. These are absolutely fantastic and, just as the gardens, well designed. The staff was friendly, the hotel is clean, the spa beautiful, the outside well maintained and it is located in a nice shopping area. Tip for lunch and dinner: go find L "Osteria at Via Busonera 13, just 2 blocks away from the hotel. This restaurant serves fresh, homemade food with such passion and love for cooking it is our absolute favourite!

Dear Guest,
first of all I would like to thank you for choosing the Trieste & Victoria, and for sharing your impressions with us. I personally took care of your request to see other rooms, and I thought that you were happy with your decision to keep the same accommodation. After that, during your stay, we had the opportunity to have some conversations together, and the problems that you are mentioning never came up. Please note that our mattresses and pillows are all brand new, fire proof to meet the latest security laws, and orthopedic to offer an higher standard, more appropriate to our hotel. If you would have told me, we could have provided softer mattress and pillows, avoiding all the inconvenient. We look forward to see you again in our house and send you our very best regards.

Stayed here for one night as wanted to visit Padua the following day.

Overall I would say that this is a good hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The receptionist in particular, making sure we were booked in for a visit to the Scrovegni Chapel the following day (you need to book in advance). As you might expect in a Spa there is a good range of pools and Spa facilities.

Abano Terme is a strange place. It appears to consist only of hotels to take advantage of the thermal springs, some relatively upmarket shops to take advantage of the tourists staying at the hotels, and then largely uninspiring flats. You don't come here for the views from your room! However, opposite the front door of the hotel was a pedestrianised shopping area where artists were displaying their wares, and this provided a pleasant after-dinner stroll.

Breakfast was very pleasant, sitting in the shade at the back of the hotel. Dinner had been going to be an outside buffet but sadly had to be moved inside due to storms. The buffet looked excellent with a lot of choice, although I'm not a great fan of buffet food.

The main impression is of a hotel targeted at a particular demographic - that being the older age range (particularly from the US and Russia as far as we could tell on our one night) who are there to use the spa facilities. I say this as the general atmosphere felt like I would imagine a hotel would be like in the 1950s. This is a good thing in many respects - the lounge areas were very ornate and furnished to a high standard, like sitting in an Edwardian drawing room. It also made our stay interesting - it's the first time I've eaten to live Opera being sung in the room (like the buffet, originally to be staged outside). Not my choice of entertainment but interesting for one night (not sure the children in the restaurant would agree) and seemed to be appreciated by our more elderly fellow-guests. On the downside the corridors were dimly lit, our room was fairly sparsley decorated, and some of the furnishings were slightly over ornate.

Overall it was a pleasant and interesting first night to our 2 weeks in Italy, and I would stay again.
