Had a wonderful week in Cardy Cottage with lovely weather as a bonus. The cottage provides everything anyone would need for a relaxing break - full of light and has a real fire in the cozy sitting room which is a lovely place to enjoy a glass of wine after a day out on the beach. Because the weather was so good, we were able to sit outside to eat and enjoyed people watching and having chance conversations with passers by. We grew up in the area so know it well and there are so many lovely places to visit and activities to enjoy if you prefer to be busy- we were there for a rest! Would highly recommend Cardy Cottage.
Spent a week and Cardy Cottage and had a great time. The cottage was spotless on arrival and the welcome pack was very much appreciated. The location is just perfect, the beach is right on your doorstep. Parking the car is a real challenge as the entrance is extremely tight but got better as the week went on!! Would definitely return in the future, highly recommend it.
Great, relaxing week over New Year at Cardy Cottage. We arrived to see a Christmas tree all lit up in the living room - what a beautiful surprise! The cottage is warm and comfortable, well equipped with everything you might need. Lying in bed listening to the sea, waking up to see the sunrise over the waves, walking on the old railway line path behind the cottage - brilliant! Simon and Becca are great hosts. There were mince pies, shortbread, jam and wine waiting for us when we arrived - just lovely.
This is very well equipped holiday cottage. Appears to be very well maintained. Kitchen well kitted out - even down to a stopper for the wine bottle! Lovely welcoming gifts on arrival. We visited over Christmas and there was even a lit Christmas tree in the lounge! Beach only 1 minute from the door. Very peaceful place. Good views from the upstairs windows and nice comfy chairs to sit in. Owners have thought of every essential need for a relaxing holiday. (Binoculars would have been a good addition, but apparently previous pairs have “disappeared” so do bring a pair with you)
Busy and welcoming village pub and good food at the Crusoe and the Upper Largo hotels.
Bear in mind that the bathroom is upstairs - and they are quite steep for my arthritic knees!
You will not be disappointed with this cottage. Trip Advisor asks if this place has a dining room. Odd question for nowadays. No dining room but a nice substantial kitchen with a table for 4, and it doesn’t interfere with the working kitchen area.
I was re-visiting my childhood village and was struck by the “peace and quiet” compared to my time living here. It seemed to me that a substantial number of properties along the street are holiday lets - probably occupied for about half the year only. The village seems to have lost its “vibe” because of this, but for a tranquil place for a holiday, you will enjoy that.
We loved Cardy Cottage, and it was so nice to have Simon visit us the evening we arrived, and also the lovely cake, homemade jam, wine, milk and flowers made it all so welcoming. It was so relaxing hearing the see lapping down on the shore at night. Just a really lovely stay in such a comfortable and well equipped cottage. We loved the whole area too.
