“Comfortable but perhaps a little tired.”

We were only there for one night & the grounds were very lovely & would think this would be an ideal hotel for events such as weddings etc. We only had breakfast because we were in the area for a family event but there was a good choice of food & beverages. Our room was at the top of the hotel and was only accessed by stairs so elderly guests or anyone with walking difficulties would have a problem. Our room was quite pleasant but because of the age of the hotel, the windows in particular looked tired! Some of ours friends on a lower floor, thought that their room was rather small but for one night I thought it was adequate.

Stayed at this hotel in September 2016, set in lovely grounds just outside of Chester. Room was really nice and large.we ate in the restaurant and the food was really good. Really well positioned for trip into chester. Really enjoyed our stay.

Booked this place for my friends 70th birthday lunch after reading reviews, was not disappointed, staff were welcoming and friendly, and scenery was beautiful, leg of lamb was very tasty but the lemon tart was delicious, all four of us had the two course deal with coffees and it came to just over £60, really good value for such fabulous setting, will definitely go back and try afternoon tea

The hotel had a lot of charm and was quite different to a 'standard' city hotel. Set in beautifully landscaped gardens, a perfect place for some rest and relaxation. The room was a good size, and included all amenities ranging from tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron, room safe etc. Staff were very helpful, and a plentiful English breakfast is served. Probably best to hire a car when staying there as a little cut off otherwise.
