“Don't do it.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

I love trip advisor and always use this site whenever I'm traveling. I feel compel to share honest opinions with fellow travelers, as others have done. There is much to say about the Marbela Beach Resort. I'll start by saying this place is exceedingly disappointing. We actually believed the resort would equal the pictures on the resort website. No such luck. The rooms are ridiculously small in size and claustrophobic! The bathroom... a disaster. Water everywhere once the shower was on. Careful not to slip and smash your head on the floor. Not enough towels. Child appropriate toilet paper...miniscule. Trance music non stop, starting 1st thing in the morning...all day-night long. Nice attempt at landscaping but failed miserably. They should take note of Idle Awhile lush coconut and palm filled (serene) landscape on Negril Beach, in Jamaica. That's how it's done.

We never ate a meal at the restaurant but the pizza was good for snack on the beach.

We ate dinner and breakfast everyday at La Plage down the beach. Excellent. The French really know a thing or two about ambiance, food, beautiful people and music.
We got the feeling that the owners didn't gave a hoot about this place or were over their heads or were busily trying to scrounge up investors. They were never around nor had they left a manager in charge. Everyone seemed lackadaisical. They couldn't care less and why should they?

We had prepaid for our room so we couldn't bail without losing a substantial amount of money. $400 per day in high season. We were grossly dissatisfied with the 'resort' and service but made the best of the situation by avoiding the hotel as much as possible. I would never, ever recommend this place. Be forewarned!

So lovely! So relaxing! So inspiring! But most of all, so nice staff, from the waiter to the manager to the owner. I love those Indian guys who really take care of you. Will be there agian!

Very nice experience to live in "tents" compared with hotel rooms.

I was at Marbela Beach Hotel with my fellow MBA colleagues at the end of January 2012. It was definitely heaven on earth. The hotel is situated right on the beach and all you need is your flip flops and swim suit. The beach is amazing, nice sandy, clean and not to crowded. The hotel has their own beach tents which you are not going to want to leave at any time; the waiters and the service are great, always there to meet your needs, with a drinks, food or massages right there on the beach. In the resturant you will have the best breakfast with the fantastic beach-sea view. The whole staff including the hotel manager who was always there, will do their best to meet your needs, and definitely their succeded to meet ours. So if you are looking for haven this is place for you, but still if you want to party a little bit there are some party places not so fare away. Since we drove around a little bit and saw some other beaches, definitely this is the ONE. We were all happy that we chose this beach and Marbela Beach Hotel !!!

The reason we stayed at this hotel was my friends wedding there otherwise I'd have shifted from this place next day for sure. First of all the food there is not good at all. I spent there 7 days and ate at hotel's restaurant twice! First time that was the night I arrived as was starving i had to eat something so i ordered pasta with prawns in tomato sauce which was tasteless....felt like they boiled spaghetti, dropped some small shrimps and didn't bother about the sauce at all. Second time i ate there was the dinner on a wedding day. And i must admit that I've never eaten something worse... This hotel definitely has to change their cook! Plus as breakfasts were included into our room rate i had it first 3 days but except good fresh juice i didn't like anything. hey didn't have any breakfast menu first of all and when i asked what can we have for breakfast? the waiter replied "omelet!" and all these days they were giving nothing except omelets. I also had a very interesting experience. I asked them to give a glass of water and the waiter said that its not included into breakfast. i was surprised as fresh juices, coffee and tea for breakfast were absolutely free and unlimited but for a glass of water they charged me 60 Rs. Isn't it ridiculous?
Our phone in the room wasn't working during the whole period of our stay.
I didn't like the way they present they services as it felt like they were trying to cheat on you in every possible situation like, for example, one day when i ordered a pack of Marlboro cigarettes they charged me 260 Rs when normally in stores it costs 98 Rs. In the bill for mini bar when were checking out they add more drinks than we actually had and when i pointed it out in front of the receptionist they pretended like they don't know what I'm talking about.
At night time that was quiet difficult to fall asleep because off to much of noise.
The only good thing is the beach as its clean and not so crowded as other beaches in Goa. But if they want to maintain their business they have to change their cook, whole stuff and front desk manager.
when we complained to the owner of the place he said that everything will be done/changed according to our request but literally nothing has changed...but i guess it was obvious.
My advice come for a day as the beach is nice, but never stay at this hotel, don't eat there and always check your bill twice as they can add what you didn't have easily.

We finished our recent 8 days visit to Goa, we stay couple of night to five star hotel in North goa . stayed three nights in this beautiful Boutique Hotel , From arrival we have been treated extremely well ,GM Avinash was a gem of a person and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. we have stayed in oceanfront room 106 , infact all the rooms are so closed to beautiful Morjim Beach ,you can actually hear the sound of waves in the night
lying on the beachbeds and white decor is so refreshing , The wood fired Pizza and Tandoor is must try .I think , thin crust balsamic chkn Pizza is the best i have ever had
spending time on the Island Bar and watching the ocean and yes you will often see the celebrities chilling out at their VIP deck , I wish i could spend some more time here
When you are in Goa dont miss this paradise !
