Staying at Halnaby is like staying in a stately home! The bedrooms are enormous ours had a little front room in it . You have breakfast in the dining room sat around a 12 seat regency table. Guests have their own front room with period furnishings all around . Outside is a beautifully looked after courtyard and lawned gardens with open views.
There was a lovely breakfast menu which tasted delicious, and best of all is the wonderful host Rosie with the help of Mike who go out of their way to ensure you have every little thing you need. I can highly recommend this bed and breakfast ....don't bother to look anywhere else.

Room Tip: 3 rooms all lovely

This place is top quality, set in private estate but within short reach of local pubs and Darlington, eight miles or so! I have visited many BnB's over many years as a motorsport photographer and I can assure you this is the best by far. Owner Rosie is a wonderful hostess and helps you feel at home. A place to relax, switch off and forget the world outside. Don't take my word for it, try it out, you wont be disappointed I'm sure.

We had a fantastic stay at Halnaby Hall Stables, only with it could have been longer than 1 night. Housed in a beautiful building in the heart of some lovely countryside, Rosie and Mike made us feel very welcome in their home. Every detail had been thought of to make their guests' stay very comfortable and luxurious- Very comfy beds, quality linen and fluffy towels, spacious rooms (TV, wifi, folder full of local info), plentiful and delicious breakfast. Think we need to find a reason to return and would definately recommend to others.

The Halnaby Hall web presence vastly under-states this delightful property.

You will be in rural Yorkshire surrounded by narrow roads lined with hedgerows and stone walls. The air is filled with the aromas of an English county-side, warm, earthy and musty. And don't think that you will be short of things to see and do, from beautiful scenery, magnificent stone manor homes to the magnificent old buildings that remind us of history and the way that people used to live. York and Alnwick are in easy driving distance. At least one day spent site-seeing in both of these beautiful towns is essential.

Visitors won't be starved. There are a number of delightful pubs, filled with the wonderful and quirky characters that English pubs are renowned for. The landlord friendly, drinks keep coming, and the beer on tap. Meals are plentiful and tasty and reasonably priced.

After a day traipsing thru Hogwarts Castle (Alnwick Castle and home of the Percy family for some 700 years) or York Minster you can finally return to Halnaby Hall Stables where you will be swept into the glorious past to experience life as the Country Squire would have lived. The rooms have been meticulously furnished by Rosie. This is not an ordinary hotel room but a suite that has been lovingly and carefully decorated to be warm, comforting and luxurious. Breakfast is a delight and Rosie's company an added pleasure. She will provide you with details of how the house was resurrected, proudly show you around and will have lots of ideas on how to spend your time.

Missing an opportunity to spend 2 or 3 nights at Halnaby Halls Stables simply doesn't make sense

Room Tip: All rooms have been beautifully decorated

The surroundings, the ambience and the beautiful rooms are every bit of 5* put this with the warmest and genuine welcome guests receive from Rosie and you have perfection. Rooms are very clean, spacious and beautifully furnished all for a great price. Affordable luxury. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful Nothing is too much trouble.
