The Halnaby Hall web presence vastly under-states this delightful property.

You will be in rural Yorkshire surrounded by narrow roads lined with hedgerows and stone walls. The air is filled with the aromas of an English county-side, warm, earthy and musty. And don't think that you will be short of things to see and do, from beautiful scenery, magnificent stone manor homes to the magnificent old buildings that remind us of history and the way that people used to live. York and Alnwick are in easy driving distance. At least one day spent site-seeing in both of these beautiful towns is essential.

Visitors won't be starved. There are a number of delightful pubs, filled with the wonderful and quirky characters that English pubs are renowned for. The landlord friendly, drinks keep coming, and the beer on tap. Meals are plentiful and tasty and reasonably priced.

After a day traipsing thru Hogwarts Castle (Alnwick Castle and home of the Percy family for some 700 years) or York Minster you can finally return to Halnaby Hall Stables where you will be swept into the glorious past to experience life as the Country Squire would have lived. The rooms have been meticulously furnished by Rosie. This is not an ordinary hotel room but a suite that has been lovingly and carefully decorated to be warm, comforting and luxurious. Breakfast is a delight and Rosie's company an added pleasure. She will provide you with details of how the house was resurrected, proudly show you around and will have lots of ideas on how to spend your time.

Missing an opportunity to spend 2 or 3 nights at Halnaby Halls Stables simply doesn't make sense

Room Tip: All rooms have been beautifully decorated

we returned once again to the beautiful Halnaby Hall Stables and it is still absolutely amazing. The perfect B & B you could ever wish to stay at. The surroundings, the ambience and the beautiful rooms are every bit of 5* put this with the warmest and genuine welcome guests receive from Rosie and you have perfection. Rooms are very clean, spacious and beautifully furnished all for a great price. Affordable luxury. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful Nothing is too much trouble. Your stay is made perfect by Rosie and Mike making you feel relaxed and welcome at all times. The use of their truly wonderful gardens is a bonus to just sit and chill out. It is so easy to drive into the Yorkshire dales and moors, darlington, Durham and Northumberland coast is all easily accessed along with Scotch Corner. We can't wait to return. Thank you so much Rosie for making our stay so very wonderful and Mike don't give up the day job ...there will be a jobs list waiting xxR & G Lincolnshire

If you stay in the area of Croft, this is the only place to stay. Large rooms, friendly owners and the best breakfast. I have stayed three times now and will not go anywhere else. Set in peaceful surroundings close to Croft Race track, Darlington and Middlesbrough and not far from Newcastle

Room Tip: All rooms are equally good

What a little beauty! A fab place, beautiful rooms, great breakfast and a really welcoming host in Rosie. Huge rooms -when you think of a twin room, two double beds doesn't automatically spring to mind and the other room had a super king and the rooms are huge and beautifully put together and a great price!.

Just a beautiful place, a little difficult to find in the dark -gps is useful- but the only thing wrong with the Stables is having stayed there for a wedding being held at the Rockcliffe Hall - and am I glad we stayed at the Stables rather than there!- I have no immediate excuse to go back!!

Thanks Rosie

Room Tip: Don't need to -the place is amazing!

I travel on business all over the UK and and can choose where I stay so I was somewhat sceptical of the 35 five star reviews but they were all correct, Halnaby Hall Stables is perfect. Rosie and Mike's warm welcome, hospitality, friendless and local knowledge together with the beautiful location, (10 mins from Scotch Corner), quiet, spacious, spotless rooms, comfortable beds and Rosie's Yorkshire breakfast set the standard.

Thank you, I'll be back.

Graham.
