Travelled in April, nad having been to ubud repeated times, decided to splurge..... Upon arrival at 4pm (2 hrs after advised check in time), were told that room was not ready, and asked to wait at the bar, (which we did, enjoying a coffee and the free afternoon tea provided each day) 40mins later we had to ask when the room would be ready....not a great start to a five star accomodation. However, upon being taken to our room, we realised the room was worth\ waiting for. Great big room, slightly character-less, cliched bali design, but comfortable....The best thing was th esetting and the view, hanging over the local rice paddies and the Ayung river, it was great to sit back and listen to the sounds of the owrkers harvesting, followed by the screams of peopletoppling over rapids in their rafts!!! (worth oding the afternoon rafting trip - a good laugh) Spa was epxensive, but great (if oyu cna handle the band saw of the building site next door, ringing in your ears!)..... Upon checkout, we advised the staff the aircon unit in the room had leaked onto the floor overnight. Although this didn't affect us at all, I have since received an email form the staff advising what the problem was, and how is has since been recitifed.... A nice touch Location not great, but wlaking out on the road, you will get a taxi into town for 20,00 RPh, and it is much nicer to be in a quiet area............There is quite possibly better places out there for the money, but it is a lovely setting, with great staff, and you will not be disappointed.....

Before we arrived at Kupu-Kupu Barong, we had a whole lot of activities planned around Bali. But as soon as we stepped inside the Kupu-Kupu Barong area. My partner said to me, "I have a feeling that we need to sacrifice some of that activities to spend more time here". I couldn't agree more. It was so relaxing, with our private pool, afternoon tea, spa... just heaven sent! It's just what we needed to getaway from the hustle and bustle of Denpasar.
Our butler was fantastic! Very polite and prompt in fulfilling our requests. (i think his name was Made). The room was wonderful! Nicely decorated, comfy bed, nice view... i couldn't ask for more!

When we entered our gorgeous villa with our lovely butler Miss Ciandri we could not believe what we saw. It was just magical :) My husband and I thought we were in paradise. The place was spotless and nothing out of place. Everything you could wish for was there. The views are amazing, and the service was unbelievable. Many thanks to the lovely staff there. Just to mention a few... the bar manager Nyoman Karsana, Swastika the staff at breakfast and Miss Ciandri. We just loved their gorgeous personalities. :)
Our stay was way to short and we will definitely return to Kupa Kupa Barong Villas and Tree spa. Many thanks to all.

Disgusting, repeling place, there were insects every where, animals were coming from the straw ceiling, we had to change the room , but the other one was full of thermites hole, we were lucky to stay two nights i would not recommend at ALL this place, the Staff was so slow and not responding to our request, the GM or Resort was not even here when we wanted to speak to him, beautiful surrounding but just avoid this hotel. and i do not tell you bout the free Wifi, it is of course free because it is not existing

Room Tip: avoid this hotel
