“Perfect for our family - a lovely retreat”
Reviewed 24 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The accommodation was wonderful for us as it was spacious, clean and very traditional. We had hours of fun in the pool especially as the weather was so hot and the pool was great and very well maintained.
The surrounding area was beautiful we really enjoyed exploring it on foot, by bikes and car. A car is essential.
The owners were great. They met any needs we had. They were welcoming, informative and very helpful.
Thank you for such a lovely holiday.

“Beautiful pool area in a rural but lovely location”
Reviewed 21 January 2015 for a stay in August 2014

Me and my two children a (9 year old and an 18 month old) and my friend and her 16 year old son stayed for a week at this holiday rental. It is a very secluded hamlet and you will need your own transport, it is lovely area and there is no noise which is fantastic. The owners live attached next door and this is very helpful as they are able to help you and provide information when you require it. They were very helpful towards us and in particular with equipment to help with my infant which was very kind of them. The pool area is beautiful and for me this was the best part of the rental, it is characterful conversion and they have not been renting very long and we did have a few teething problems with the shower and kitchen sink blocking up and the toilet not flushing. We felt that the property it's self lacked a few items such as enough comfortable chairs in the lounge area and the TV doesn't have sky even though there is a box there, not really any Wi Fi which I'm surprised there was any to be honest considering the location! we also did struggle with the size of the shower as it was on the small side also it's location in the property, there were a few other little things which I do feel are important when renting holiday villas/property's. We also felt in our opinion it wasn't as clean as it could be and I understand it's old exposed brickwork and that can be dusty. I think the owners a David & Valerie may have felt we were a little demanding because we are not backwards in coming forwards as they didn't say good bye on the day we left which was a shame as we did enjoy the holiday and the property as they did everything they could for us and we do wish them well with in the holiday rental world.

Management Response

Many thanks for your comments. The owners welcome all comments as it was only their first year of renting the house out, and realise that there may have been some 'teething problems' as you said. They are looking forward to this year's rentals and will take everything that was said on board.

“A taste of French rural life !”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

If you want some peace and quiet and to 'get away from it all' this is the perfect place. At times the only noise was made by ourselves. A lovely well equipped cottage with many original features. The linen and towels were spotless. The location provides for a real taste of French rural life with the security of English speaking hosts. The pool area was superb. The owners were lovely, whilst living next door, they were really friendly, there to offer advice and information about the area but they were never intrusive. A car is essential to get around but the village is surrounded by lanes and tracks for leisurely walks and bike rides. A bit of a treck to the coast at least 40mins but worth it, the beaches at Les Conches are superb for surfing and body boarding. Le Marais Poitevin is a must too. Lots of other parts of France we'd like to visit but we wouldn't rule out returning to La Metairie
