“Perfect accommodation in a lovely French town.”
Reviewed 12 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed at 13 Rue Jean Martin in late June 2012 and it is an absolute delight.
The house is very well restored with lots of charm, but all modern conveniences are included. The kitchen even has a dish washer (which we didn’t use).
The owner, Mrs Coyle is extremely hospitable and helpful and allowed us unrestricted use of the washing machine in her house which is next door and the WiFi connection.
Sadly, the weather wasn’t very good whilst we were there, but that meant we got to light the lovely wood-burning stove and sit on the sofa reading books, drinking wine and generally just enjoying the place.
The double room on the first floor has a king sized bed which is very comfortable and a bathroom with an excellent shower right next to it on the landing.
Though we had no use for it, the single bedroom on the second floor has a toilet with hand basin adjacent to it.
The small back yard is very nice, but again due to the weather we sadly didn’t get to sit out in it at all.
Guéméne-sur-Scorff is a lovely, small town with some nice cafes, shops, restaurants and boulangeries. We walked around and took pictures of many of the old features of the town as recommended by the excellent Office de Tourism in the town. Sadly, much of the original castle etc. no longer exists, but there is plenty to satisfy the casual tourist (like us).
Though I tried not to, most people speak at least some English which could make life easier for someone struggling with French.
The tourist office also provided us with a series of leaflets describing country walks in the area, one of which we followed on the one (mostly) dry day we had for about 11km through some very lovely countryside.
Within easy reach are Pontivy and Ponte-Aven, both of which are worth a visit.
We would definitely recommend the area and this house in particular.
