We were very impressed with Pommard House which provides a much higher standard of accommodation than we have found elsewhere. Very close to Beaune and other wine towns and villages. The amenities in Pommard fine for a village but it was a shame some of the shops were closed during most of our visit. We travelled to Dijon by train and it was a real plus to find free parking in the station. Beaune itself is a quaint town and we enjoyed relaxing in the park which was excellent for picnics and a gentle stroll. We enjoyed visiting some new wine domains as well as ones we have been visiting for a few years.
well. its just an amazing place, in a very old building in a very small, quaint village smack in the middle of the Pinot Noir wine region of Burgundy. two bedrooms, one on the fist floor and one on the 3rd, both very nicely done and quite large and roomy, both with their own bathrooms that were more then functional, and the bedroom upstairs has a nice little deck with terrific views.. the 2nd floor is the living floor, it has TV, even in English which we ever turned on and you won't have time to either.. it was left nicely stocked for us, orange juice, champagne etc... a private parking stall is included..and surrounded by wonderfully friendly couples who live there year around. It's a short walk to simply amazing places, including a bakery, some very good restaurants, although the kitchen is so well equipped and so modern and functional it begs you to use it and we did.. the owners/hosts live in Australia yet they are amazingly responsive and helpful..cant wait to go back
If you love excellent wine and food and enjoy experiencing real village life in a beautifully appointed apartment, you will love staying at Pommard House in Burgundy. The location is outstanding and is close to the medieval walled town of Beaune; a fascinating place to spend a day meandering and enjoying history.
The three storey apartment is large and tasteful, the living room floor covered in the most exquisite handmade tiles that must be well over a hundred years old. The upstairs bedroom with a large comfy bed has views across the vineyards. The adjoining ensuite is large and has an amazing large bath. The kitchen is well appointed and we cooked a few nights using local meats and cheeses we bought at the market that was only 20 minutes away by car. We were lucky to be staying at the end of grape picking and the smells of fermentation filled the air – an experience that was very new to us.
We enjoyed the walking through the vineyards and into the little village to buy our bread, wine and the most delicious hand made chocolates. There are a couple of cafes and we became regulars in our week’s stay. What more could you want?
My husband and I highly recommend Pommard House and thank our hosts Mitz and John for their warm hospitality in this exquisite part of the world.

This beautiful redone farmhouse offers one of the best locations in burgandy. The owners passion and obviously love of area just shines in this 2 bed 2 bath house, the two sleeping areas offer total privacy. Beautiful showers and bath tub. Central area has a unbelivable gourmet kitchen with every appliance you would ever want. Also a washer and dryer. Owner has a book with info on house and area and dining. All of his recommendations are spot on. Walking distance close to great little village of pommard. But sits dead center in burgandy with easy access to all villages. Few miles to train station and euro car rental.
You have to see this house to appreciate its craftsmanship
I don't know why you would stay anywhere else. Also right behind house is one of the most famous vineyards in burgandy., beautiful balcony in master suite overlooks.
Great value as well
