We stayed here three nights and really enjoyed it. We spent the entire weekend walking and it was a brilliant location for this as long as you carry an OS map.
Best points were you can camp where you like, it’s not plastered with do and don’t signs everywhere, it’s peaceful, rural location and the fact it was accommodating to obedient dogs. The staff were friendly and it was nice they left you to your camping.
The only negative was as you first enter the site the rubbish disposal area was in a bit of a state with discarded tents and two abandoned chemical toilet units. Good recycling facilities though and I’m sure this can quickly be cleared up and was probably a bit of end of season camping mess. I also didn’t like brushing my teeth where people do washing up so it would be great to have a basic sink for washing up pots and pans.
I would definitely come here again out of season, it was a brilliant place and I would recommend to outdoorsy hardy campers. Thank you a lovely stay.
