“Tastefully restored period cottage in the lovely and historic village of Eyam”

We went on a short stay, which left a lasting impression, and a feeling that we would love to return to this cottage and village - next time for a longer stay!
Everything was just as you imagine a cottage should be - warm, cosy and inviting, almost transporting you back to times gone by. The pictures on the website tells the story, just as good if not better in the flesh. Add to this the snow which had recently fallen, the cottage and village were pretty as a picture!
The character of the cottage has been preserved during restoration, and it is clear that the owners, Ricky & Christine take a great pride. Little touches like eggs and milk left waiting for us, coupled with a very warm welcome throughout our visit. The internet connection worked fine for me too.
Such a quiet and friendly village, and what a peaceful time we had in the cottage situate in the heart of the lovely village of Eyam. The village itself has lots to see, pleasing to stroll around and to soak in the atmosphere of this historic village, which appears very much alive and thriving. It is also a perfect springboard for many other equally picturesque villages and scenic walks and views of the Peaks.
Last but not least, we had several pleasant trips to local hostelries recommended by the proprietors, each of which gave us a warm welcome, and great cuisine. All in all a very pleasing experience, which we intend to repeat!

Liked best: The location, the period feel of the cottage and the historic village and surroundings, as well as the local hostelries!
Liked least: We found it hard to fault our experience. All good from our point of view.

Tasteful decorated, beautifully refurbished 1 bed cottage.
Set in a village with an interesting history, within the Peak District.
Local shops can be reached on foot.
Some really good pubs are close (2-3 miles). Didn't have time to check the ones in the village.
The owners were very welcoming and live next door. They can't do enough to help you.
Excellent information on local area attractions.
WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK
