Great surf and so much space for everyone so it never feels cramped and when the sun shines there is loads of space to sit and enjoy the beach

One of the best beaches on the North Devon Coast. Huge open space at low tide, can get good surf, life guards for safe swimming, and hocking ice-cream van for the best tasting ice-cream on the beach.

Don't just think of Westward Ho!beach as just your traditional bucket and spade beach. Take the time to walk the full length of it and as you head towards the estuary the crowds thin and the environment changes. Walk up over the pebbles to access the burrows and you are in a wildlife haven (and I don't just mean the golfers...)
The beach and burrows is wonderful in all seasons and weathers.

Very nice beach at low water but high tide comes right up to the sea wall. The pier has an arcade that caters for all ages with ride on machines for the little ones. Surprisingly it was not too expensive either.
Car parking is all pay and display. The town car park boasts a chippy close by which is great.
We were early in the season but it’s worth noting that dogs are banned from areas of the beach from May thru September. There is a section of beach where dogs on leash are allowed. See the maps posted on the seafront for the latest information.

First time ever to Westward Ho,and the last I'm afraid, not sure if we had missed any part of it ,but what we did see was just a built up miss match of buildings flats, hotels, etc.to us it just look messy, and really wouldn't want to go there on Holidays,it might appeal to a younger family, but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place.

2  Thank lynn s
