Loving this park.. rent a bike , bring your running gears or just take a stroll around this beautiful park.. Likely you will say hello to a family of raindeers .. The park is just about 20min train ride from London. I took the District Line to Fulham Green and bus no.81 or uber for GBP8. A nice option if you just want to be out of London city and do just a few hours at the park ..

Richmond Park is a wonder and great that this old Royal hunting ground is open to the public- its huge and you can drive, cycle and walk around the Park, with 7 car parks and self service restaurants in Pembroke Lodge and the Richmond Park Golf, ice cream/coffee/snack bars/van in Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park Golf, Isabella Plantation parking.
Worth the visit are Pembroke Lodge (nice views across Surrey and towards City of London), Isabella Plantation (especially April/May for rhododendron/azalea blooms), Pen Ponds, White Lodge Dance school. The Park is huge more like a safari park, so take a picnic and spend the day. Ideally you need a car as there is a mystifying lack of public transport to the Park and inside.
Do beware of two elements in the park - speeding cyclists(all year round) and rutting deer(in season), so keep your distance and keep dogs on lead.
The Park opens in the morning to cars and closes at night - times are given at entrance gates - but side gates are open all the time for cyclists and pedestrians( unless notified otherwise e.g. during culling periods).

This is a beautiful huge park in Richmond. I can't believe how massive it is. The scenery is absolutely stunning. Huge maple trees, herd of deer etc. A lot of cyclists and nature lovers. Use the telescope to see St Paul's Cathedral.

I love Richmond Park, haven’t been since I was little as we moved away from London but after a visit at the weekend it is just as I remembered. We walked about 3 miles in total and hardly covered the park. Great views of central London. The deer are something special free roaming and as long as you respect there space they are beautiful. Only downside is the limited places to park the car as we didn’t fancy a walk from the tube.

This is a wonderful park for a lazy walk with spectacular views.

Walking from Sheen Gate to Richmond Gate then down onto the tow path along the river right into the heart of Richmond is an excellent way to spend a couple of hours.

Penn Ponds in the middle of the park is definitely worth a visit too, just to wander around the lakes on a sunny day.
