“Fantastic yet again!”
Reviewed 8 August 2018 for a stay in August 2018

Second time we have visited (May 2017) and still the same great place to stay in Bodmin. We use this beautiful cottage as a base while we travel around the coast's enjoying the breaches.

Here is my review below:

Occupancy.
Currently room for two family's, upstairs cottage family of four, downstairs family of 6

Location.
Located in Blisland Village, it's set in a beautiful location. Plenty of off the track walks, local post office and pub. Morrison's, Asda about 16 min drive away. Torr house has a lovely large garden with swing and toys from the utility room to use.

Hospitality:
Gerard and Linda are such a nice couple who are always around to help. The cottage we stayed in was spotless and we were greeted with scones, strawberry and jam, yum yum.

Things to do:
Unless you just like walking, you will need to travel out to see what Cornwall has to offer. I recommend :
Watergate bay - Surf and body boarding. Lovely clean beach with clear sea for swimming and fun for kids.
Hidden Valley - great day out for the family solving clues
The rest is up to you....

Summery:
Will be coming here again next year as we love this place. Kids love it and we never had a dull moment.

Fantastic!!

“Absolutely perfect place to be!”

We have stayed here every year for the last five years. It is an absolutely perfect setting for a family to feel so at home whilst on holiday.
The setting is beautiful and so peaceful and is a brilliant base for exploring every part of Cornwall.
Hollyhock cottage has everything you need. The owners are absolutely brilliant and so welcoming. Freshly made scones on arrival with scrumptious homemade jam definitely starts a holiday in Cornwall in the right way.
Our children love being there and are very happy playing in the gardens, with a wonderful selection of toys and games to use.
We wouldn't want to be anywhere else!!

We stayed the past week in Appletree Cottage. The cottage was perfect for the four of us and our dog. Gerard and Linda where wonderful hosts and Linda's scones a dream! The cottage was perfectly located quiet but within driving distance to almost everywhere. Beds comfortable and lovely big fluffy towels. Linda also made us muffins with her own jams and a wonderful bag of brownies to take with us when we left. Thank you both so much we will be back.

“Fantastic base to visit the whole of Cornwall. Highly recommend!”

We have stayed at Torr House cottages twice now, once in Appletree and once in Hollyhock. Both cottages are a complete home from home and have everything that you need on holiday and more. Gerard and Linda are amazing hosts and make everyone feel welcome from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave - nothing is too much trouble. On arrival we were greeted with freshly made scones with homemade jam and clotted cream as well as other essentials such as fresh bread, milk, biscuits and a selection of home made jams. The beds are some of the most comfortable I have ever experienced with high quality luxury pillows, and bedding. The bathrooms are finished to a high spec and the towels are plentiful and so soft. The garden is truly amazing and has everything any child (or adult) can imagine to play with assuming you have the weather. Location wise this is ideal to visit any part of Cornwall with easy access to both the North and South Coast and Lands End. We will definitely be going back just to have more of Linda's scones if nothing else. A little piece of heaven on earth!!!

“Perfect host`s.”

1st. visit. We stayed in Apple Tree. The picture`s did not do it Justice. It was lovely. So warm and cosy for the two of us, with many extras in the kitchen and elsewhere. The fresh flowers were a joy. There was little sewing box for emergency`s. Plenty of nice fluffy towels, toiletries, not usually included, even in expensive hotels. Loads of piping HOT water for a wonderful bath, or shower. View `s across the garden and the ,countryside beyond to a stunning sunset. So much has been lovingly put in to this cottage. It is very much more than a basic holiday cottage. There are a good selection of Inns and Pubs in the area providing very good choice of venue. If, like us you have a dog there are walks to the moorland from the door ..

2nd. visit, also in Apple Tree, was our pre wedding stay, which was a secret, but once again, Linda and Gerard waved their magic, they knew why we were there. They had tastefully decorated the cottage, and left delicious treats!!! Even more gorgeous floral decoration was to greet us,after a trip out. And, when we left, a special home made gift. But, not too much information for you, as it was private, for us. You, will have to find out their generosity for yourselves. And because they are such lovely people, they were invited to our secret moorland wedding.
